About Me
I aim to provide a friendly, nurturing, safe and warm home from home environment that provides a range of active educational and engaging activities for all children. I aim to provide experiences that will develop skills in understanding, thinking, investigation, problem-solving and imagination to encourage a child’s curiosity, inquiry, and creativity. I am passionate about outdoor play after completing my nature pedagogy course. I will access outdoors most days exploring the local community and nature through the woods and nature reserve close by. This allows children to take part in risky play and learn about nature and real-life skills. I will offer free flow opportunities for children to make their own decisions about their play and to try new experiences. I have appropriate toys, games, and experiences for children of all ages. I will also offer planned experiences such a story and song time, music, and messy play. Children in my care will be treated as individuals and will be given age and stage appropriate experiences to help them meet their milestones. All children will be encouraged and supported to respect, be kind and caring towards each other.
My Experience
I have a HNC in Early Education and Childcare and have 8 years experience as an early years educator within Falkirk Council nurseries. I'm in my 3rd year at the University of Highlands and Islands studying a Bachelor's degree in Childhood Practice and also completed Froebel in Childhood Practice at Edinburgh University. I have completed various training courses including first aid, child protection, outdoor learning and nature pedagogy in early years, supporting children with ASN, EmotionWorks, woodwork in early years, elementary food hygiene, infection control and family engagement.
