About Me
My name is Catherine and I am a childminder in the Northumberland Park and Backworth area. I am a mum to 3 children (8, 12, and 14) and have a lovely 6 year old labradoodle. I have been married to my husband Tony for 18 years. I am 43 years old.
My Experience
I am a qualified childminder and have been working with children for around 8 years! I started my own playgroup, party and soft play business called Carroty Custards in 2012. We were very popular and loved meeting new families. I was lucky enough to host parties for some families 4 years in a row and still know many of them now! I also ran a very popular playgroup in Benton for many years. I love the opportunity to meet new parents and their children.
I love being a childminder and am fortunate to have a large playroom to share with the children as well as a lot of outdoor space and access to the wagonways. I am situated 2 minutes walk from Northumberland Park metro and with easy access to the A19.
I regularly update my training and learning and I also work closely with several local Childminder’s meaning we keep up to date with local services and the children get to enjoy lots of social activities.
I have theee lovely children of my own- a little girl who is 8 and my sons who are 12 and 13. We are energetic and love the outdoors. Our home backs onto the Wagonways so you will often find us walking our dog or riding our bikes! We have our own flock of chickens and the children enjoy learning all about them and how to care for them.
My Qualifications
I am a fully qualified, Ofsted approved child care provider..
I have undertaken my Level 3 in Home based Childcare and received excellent feedback throughout the course.
I have undertaken additional training in Safeguarding and hold my first aid certificate. I am committed to improving my own professional profile and will be updating my learning regularly.
I received excellent feedback from my Ofsted inspector and have references that I will be happy to share with parents.
In addition to my childcare qualifications I also have a degree in English Literature from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne.
My Availability
I currently have one full time space and one part time space from September 2024.
