About Me
I have been an OFSTED registered childminder since 2007. I moved to Winnersh in September 2017 with my 3 youngest children (19, 16 & 14) Before moving to Winnersh I worked from my home in High Wycombe and for the last four years of that I worked along-side my sister, also a registered childminder.
In September 2024 we moved house to Reading but didn't want to move our Childminding services away from Winnersh so I am now registered to work from my assistants house, this is working very well so far and means we have managed to continue the care for the children in our setting which was important to us.
My assistant, Kerri, is currently going through the process of registering to become a childminder herself, so eventually, we will co- childmind from Kerris address in Winnersh.
I have a minibus which enables us to have some amazing days out.
My Experience
I like to keep routine as much as possible, the children seem to like it when they arrive and know that on this day we will go to Beale Park, soft play or somewhere else. We meet up with other childminders and go on outings or have play dates together. I like for the children in my care to learn through play in a homely environment and for as much as possible to be child lead, I just provide opportunity, encouragement and praise.
I have cared for children as young as 3 weeks right up to 12 years old and my training to help care for them all is ongoing. I like to attend as many training courses as possible.
My last OFSTED inspection was February 2024 & I was graded good.
My Qualifications
I have done a pediatric first aid course.
Diploma in homebased childcare
City & Guilds in Adult numeracy level 1
NSPCC Child Protection Awareness course
I also attended a course in baby massage
I have done a fire warden training course & food safety.
Training & learning is ongoing & I do my best to attend all relevant courses.
Autism awareness.
Phonics.
diabetes awareness
Training is on going and safeguarding and first aid is updated regularly
My Availability
I work from 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday although am flexible to suit as long as prior agreement made.
I have a 2 day minimum policy and don't do half days as we like our says out too much!
I am registered to take funded children of all ages. Funded hours are 9-4.30 daily, hours outside of those hours are at my normal hourly rate.
I have 2 spaces available on a Monday and Tuesday and Thursday
Occasional care possible depending on availability.
I will hold a space as long as a non refundable retainer is paid due to being let down last minute.

Entrance fees on trips are paid for by parents.

Amanda and her assistants were looking after my twin girls for the last and 2 and half years. She is everything that you could wish for from a childminder. She is a caring, loving, warm, and beautiful person. My kids love spending time in her setting and as a Mum, I can totally trust her. I can't recommend her highly enough. :)
She is an amazing childminder and my girls and I will definitely miss her.

After spending a long time looking at nurseries and Childminders i met Amanda and knew she would be perfect for my son! He isntantly warmed to her and her setting and didn't want to leave! She has a great energy and is thinks out of the box with his learning. I get regular updates, she is very professional and we are over the moon! I would highly recommend to anyone wanting the best for their child!

Amanda has looked after Daniel for a few months now and he loves going to see her and all his friends that he has made.
Amanda has helped with his development a huge amount and has also made a huge impact on our day to day life and has been great supporting the family with all its changes.
I have recommended Amanda to all my friends as she is kind, very patient and a good laugh with children and parents.

I originally started looking for a Childminder 8 months before I had to go back to work after being on Maternity Leave with my 2nd child. I was so worried about making the right decision for both my children. I thought I would have problems in finding the right person but somehow within a couple of weeks of searching on this site I found the perfect person who welcomed me and my children into her home and the first time I met Amanda I knew she was the right person to take care of them.
Amanda has been looking after Amarni and Fabien since September 2012 and every time they are picked up by her they are so happy to go with her they both love her to bits and her daughters and i think she is absolutely terrific I couldn't of asked for a better Childminder and I also think of her as a friend.

Overall
Amanda has been looking after my little boy since oct 2012, he was going to breakfast club and after school club but my son was not happy. Amanda was my life saver, she made my son very welcome. It didn't take long for Arthur to settle in and for him to tell me to hurry up in the morning so he can go to Amandas house!!!!
Amanda is very well organised, at Christmas time she had a few activities planned, she wrote all the parents a note to detail all the changes so we where fully aware of what was going on, she also organised a lovely Christmas party for all the children in her care, my little boy had a fab time and very excited about Christmas.
If you are looking for a excellent, flexible childminder, Amanda is the child minder for you.
She has also welcomed my family into her family, me and my son went for a catch up after Christmas, she invited us to stay for tea, my son jumped at the opportunity.
