My Experience

My career started in 1994 after I had completed my NNEB training and then took my first position as a nanny for two children aged 3 & 6. My duties were normal nanny duties such as school drop offs, after school activities, encouraging the girls to have friends over, helping with homework, providing nourishing meals and working in partnership with parents. Once the youngest was at full time school it was time for me to move on, I had been with the family for 18months. We are still in regular contact even now after all these years!

My career then took a big change and I took a position in a 40 place day nursery as a head of room with a group of 3-4 year olds and in charge of 1 member of staff. Within a few months I was given the challenge to become officer in charge, which meant being responsible for the day to day running of the nursery.

I then went on to become the nursery manager where I had to run the whole nursery as my own business. This led me on to manage two other 40 place nurseries in London.

In 2000 I decided to have a change in career again and went back to being a nanny. In this position I looked after three children 9, 7 and 22months. Eight months into this position I found out I was pregnant, my boss, was very understanding and allowed me to carry on in the position once the baby had arrived. That job ended Jan 2003 due to me being pregnant again. I had been with the family for three years!

In the summer 2002 knowing I would be leaving my nannying position I decided that I would become a registered childminder. I did the ICP training and passed in December2002 and received my registration certificates in February2003.

My Qualifications

I am a qualified NNEB, and Ian has the Diploma in Home Based Childcare, ( Level 3 qualification). Ian also completed a foundation degree in early years Aug 2019. We both hold current first aid certificates.
We are both accredited childminders on the Surrey childminding network, and drawing down the Early Years Funding for 3 and 4 year olds.
Both of us have completed the Quality Improvement Award.

My Availability

We offer a fully flexible service, and can provide care across the working week.
We are available to collect children from their homes in the Aldershot/ Farnham area and drop them home.
We have spaces available for under 5yrs and we also have spaces before and after school for school age children. We are happy to be flexible with hours, early starts or later pick up times please contact us to discuss your requirements.

• Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
• Childminding from £5.50 per hour
