My Summary
About Me
Hi, my name is Camilla Collins.
I have worked as a registered childminder for 20 years so far, and previously worked as a Nursery Nurse.
I have received two Good and three Outstanding Ofsted reports. The most recent Ofsted inspection was in 2020 (under the new Ofsted framework).
My goal has always been to work with children. I enjoy running my own childcare business and spending my day outdoors surrounded by enthusiastic young children exploring and learning.
I have completed a foundation degree in Early Years (2012) and a BA Honours Open Degree (2015) and continually update my professional development by attending regular training sessions.
I live near a park and we spend most of our time outdoors. The outdoor play area has a gazebo, sensory garden, mud kitchen and a maths shed filled with natural resources for the children to play with and explore. We like using local facilities such as parks, duck pond and the library. The Ethos of my setting is the outdoors. Be prepared for slightly muddy, but tired children at the end of the day!
My Experience
I worked as a Nursery Nurse in private Nurseries before having my own children.
I am a mother to three and decided to run my own childcare setting, when my children were born.
I revived my first Ofsted inspection as a Good ( when Good was the highest grade) and then three Outstanding Ofsted reports. The most recent Ofsted inspection under the new framework was a Good ( This is my first inspection, working with an assistant)
I have a good relationship with other local childminders and we regular met and also do planning and activities as a group. It’s lovely for the children to be able to mix with other childcare group settings.
I make sure I attend training courses to gain more experiences. I do this continually throughout the year.
First Aid training (2024) Generalist Safeguarding training in (2023) Designated Lead safeguarding Early Year's (2023) and Prevent training, FGM training (2024)

Just a fantastic setting, ran in the scandi style, so the little ones are out in the fresh air all day, all weathers. Both Camilla and Yvonne are dedicated to providing the children in their care with love, support and opportunities to learn in and connect with nature.
My son started at the setting at 10 months and stayed for 2 years, only leaving because we're relocating, otherwise I'd have his stay until school. During his time there he has grown in confidence and skills and he has loved his time there.
Cannot recommend this setting enough. Its so important for the little ones to be outdoors in their early years.

My two children first joined Camilla's setting when they were three years and 10 months old. They both remained at the setting until they were 11. It took us a long time to find a childminder we felt we could leave our children with and when we first met Camilla I knew her setting was the right place. My children both felt safe and happy there and my youngest started referring to Camilla at home as his step-mum! They both had an excellent relationship with Camilla and her setting felt like their second home. We loved Camilla's approach to supporting child development in the early years and she obviously has a deep understanding of how to support young children's development. Her communication is excellent and varied, sending photos, messages, verbally and in written form. Even when my children only joined Camilla after school I often had photographs of them having fun. Over the years Camilla has supported my children during some very difficult times and has been a constant figure whom they trust and feel secure with. They have had a wide range of experiences within her setting including baking, trips to the library, parks, feeding the ducks, painting and so many more. Both my children were nurtured and flourished under Camilla's care and I feel so lucky that we found her. She really is so much more than a childminder and my children always reflect on the happy times they spent with her. I cannot thank her enough for the years of care and support she gave to my children and my family as a whole.

Our little boy has been with Camilla since he turned 1 (about 10 months ago) and we are so pleased to have found her. Our boy is with her two days a week, is always very happy to go and really enjoys himself. We have been particularly impressed by how well she understands his individual needs and caters for his slightly mischievous personality!
The setting is lovely, it is a real home away from home, and there are other children his age who he plays with very well. He seems to learn a lot, spends time playing both indoors and outdoors, and comes back with 'artwork' and new words each week now. We get photos and updates, and know that he is always being well very looked after.
Camilla is brilliant childminder who we lucky to have found and would highly recommend to other parents.

I have two boys who love spending time at Camilla’s after school, three days a week and during the school holidays.
They are always active, kept entertained by various craft or fun activities, and spend lots of time out and about in the park close to Camilla’s or around the local area. During the holidays they bake, visit the library, cinema and tour the local parks along the Langford blue line.
We are very lucky to have her looking after our boys!

My boys both love going to Camilla's. They get to do lots of fun activities and get lots of fresh air in a very homely environment. Camilla is great with my boys allergies and eczema. I would highly recommend her as a great place for children in the Langford area.
