About Me
Hi, my name is Elle and I'm 26 years old I'm a lively, bubbly, friendly and outgoing person.
I live in my own home in wymondham in my own home.
My girlfriend lives in London and is a drama teacher, she spends half the week here with me and I commute back-and-forth when I can. She is looking to relocate here in August and plans to move in with me.
I have a very big family and am one of three of my own siblings.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially my nephews I take the auntie role very seriously which includes spoiling them rotten, letting them stay up past bedtime and sneaking them extra biscuits. I can ensure you though I am completely professional when it comes to nannying…. Most of the time.
I also have a huge love for the arts, I escape to London whenever I can go watch a show and don’t think there is now a musical I haven’t seen. I also love walks, beach days and a huge sucker for some crazy golf.
My Experience
Although I am young I have extensive experience in various childcare categories. I now have a total of 10 years of childcare experience including experience with twins, triplets, SEN children, new borns and families who have had up to 5 children.
After I left high school I went straight to work in a nursery in my local village with children aged ranged from newborn to five years however I was based in our toddler room and I so became a fully qualified nursery practitioner, I was also a one to one worker with some autistic children. I worked there for just over 2 years this allowed me to develop a wide range of skills to work with children ( including being able to make pretty much anything out of a cereal box ) I am very creative and love to be outdoors with children as well, I am also very familiar with the EYFS. I also got to be trained to be able to do one to one sessions with children of various needs such as autistic children and behavioural problems. After being at nursery for a while I worked my way up into being lead of my nursery room and managing all 32 children and staff team in my room.
After the two years of nursery working I decided to try something new and go into Nannying which is where I still occasionally work looking after a 2 year old boy and a 5 year old girl, I have been with my family for almost 8 years and the children are now 12 and 10. As well as being their Nanny I was also there housekeeper, I looked after there animals, did school/nursery pick ups and drops offs, food shopping, dry cleaning and cook for the family. I went out and did various activities with the children including, swimming lessons, tumble tots, music group and days out including the dinosaur park, farms and parks, as well as other creative activities at home including arts and crafts, baking and even baby yoga!
Within nannying as well I have also had the amazing opportunity of being a “night nanny” for a 2 year old with various special needs and medical issues. This required me staying up throughout the night and settling the child when he woke up, providing bottles and medication, getting dressed/bathed in the morning and feeding him breakfast. Throughout lockdown I become the main care for this family and worked with them throughout the day and night so have lots of experience of being around children with medical needs also.
I started with a new family in March 2020 who now have 6 year old twins, one boy and one girl but we’re just 6 months which I started. Unfortunately due to lockdown I only did four days with them before having to stop but started back with them again July 2020. I worked for this family two days a week, doing various activities with the babies such as sensory play, messy play, walks to the park, library and plenty more! I stoped working for this family January 2022 due to the family re locating.
Within lockdown I did lots of temp jobs for various key workers of children of all ages including newborns so in those 5 months I gained more experience than I ever thought I would and I would definitely say now that entertaining children in their own homes is one of my strong suits! I have now worked with families who have up to 5 children and of all various ages also.
At the start of 2022 I started with two new family’s one three days a week with a now 3 year old (was 1 when I started) and another family two days a week with a now 2 year old (4 months when I started), both of these families have now got multiple children. The first family I am still with now just one day a week and from June will be having both children as mum goes back to work from maternity leave June 2025. The other I worked for until 2024 and they had another baby why I was with them, at the start of 2024 they decided to put both children in nursery so I unfortunately had to leave the position but still babysit for them and speak to them weekly!
In 2024 I did some free lance nannying and took on multiple short term positions apart from one permanent family one day a week (as above). Although I love the fast pace and gaining lots of experience with short positions, I personally thrive more when I’m settled in more permanent positions. So in September 2024 I took on 2 more families one being a long term and one being a short term. The long term position who I am still with have a 3 year old and 5 year old, I do the school runs, a tad of general house keeping, go on holiday with them and do laundry. The other family who were short term have a 1 year old and 3 year old and my position is now coming to end due to them both starting to nursery.
I am currently looking for a new family to take me on Mondays and Tuesdays. Ideally, I would love full days Monday 8 am to 6 pm day and on the Tuesday at 8 am to 4 pm day. These hours are absolutely flexible! These are just what would be ideal for me but always willing to talk and find a fit that’s best for both of us.
One of the things which is most important to me is that the children I have in my care why nannying is that feel safe and loved by me. I pride myself on building a close relationship with the child/children that I look after so they feel as comfortable as possible with me. I also try and do this with the parents of the child I am looking after, I am aware that is such a a responsibility to look after someone else’s child and I find it an honour each time a parent leaves them with me. I like parents to feel as comfortable as possible with me and feel like they can say anything to me knowing it will be received well, including any criticism or changes wanted.
