My Summary
About Me
I am a happy, bubbly, outgoing person who loves working with children and I qualified 7 years ago with my level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education.
Since then I have been working full time in a local primary school as a Teaching Assistant.
My Experience
Relevant Experience:
January 2022 - present
I am employed in a local primary School as a Teaching Assistant - for Nursery and Reception classes. I also run the After School club.
July/August 2022 & July/August 2023 & July/August 2024
I worked on a TUI cruise ship in the Children's Club.
January 2018- January 2022
I worked in a Torquay Primary School as a Teaching Assistant in Year 4 working with children aged 8/9, I had been with the same class since they started in Reception.
I worked with the whole class and small groups of children to promote their learning and plan activities alongside the Teacher.
I went on regular school trips where I had a group of 6/8 children to myself, and with my First Aid Skills I was very handy on school trips.
Temporary Children’s Nanny - December 19 - January 20 ( 10 days)
During the Christmas holidays I was working in Courchevel, French Alps staying with a British family in their holiday chalet.
The family I was working for had a 2 year old and a 8 year old, I was mainly looking after and supporting the youngest child as the older one went skiing with the parents everyday.
My routine was to prepare breakfast and then dress the children in their ski gear.
After taking the youngest to and from ski school in the mornings, I prepared lunch and then played with and amused the youngest child for the afternoon until the family arrived home for the evening.
After dinner I helped bath and get the children ready for bed and read them a bedtime story, assisting the eldest to read her school book.
July 2019 - August 2019
During the school summer holidays I was employed by Tui as a Kids Rep for a Family Life Resort in Kos, Greece working with children aged 3-11 years old.
In the Kids club the ratio was 1-8 children and the maximum number of children we could take in was 32 when all 4 kids reps were present.
A children's representative is responsible for looking after groups of children, organising a varied programme of activities throughout the day, keeping them happy whilst in a safe environment. They are also called kids reps.
Sept 2017 - Sept 2018
Before I worked in a Primary school, I worked in a Nursery School which had children aged 2-5 years old, this was my first job and it was a temporary position, after finishing my Early Years Diploma.
I had to plan regular activities everyday always making sure they are fun and enjoyable however also make sure they are challenging regarding to the child and the age of the child.
I washed and changed children as required and I provided comfort and warmth to a poorly child and I ensured that mealtimes were a time of pleasant social sharing.
Previously whilst at College I did my work experience in a Nursery with Babies 0-6 Months , In a toddler room ages 1-3 and in the Preschool room ages 3-5.
Sept 2018 - Dec 2018
Nannying for a six year old boy for 4 evenings a week (4pm-8pm) and during school holidays.
I prepared light snacks/ and meals for his dinner regarding his dietary requirements as he was gluten free.
I planned activities for him during the holidays and took him out on trips, we went to the Zoo and Dinosaur World.
I prepared a picnic to take with us because of his dietary requirements his Mother did not allow him to eat certain foods outside his home.
In the evenings I helped him with his homework and his reading.
I helped bathe him and wash his hair and prepare his clothes for the next day and get him ready for bed.
My Qualifications
Level 3 Early Years and Education Diploma
Level 2 Early Years and Education
My Availability
I am sometimes seeking work for 6 weeks of the school summer holidays, unless I am offered a suitable Cruise ship in which case I now return to TUI each summer for several weeks.
I am also ' Bank Staff ' for a local Day Nursery and usually spend a couple of days in the Nursery during School half term holidays.
As working in a school I have 6 weeks off so would ideally like to be working as a live in nanny to help care for children during the holidays :)
However I am available to babysit / nanny during weekends, some evenings and school holidays.
I am happy to be based anywhere around Britain as long as I can be a live in nanny.
