About Me

Hi, my name is Krissy and I am a fully registered OFSTED and Montessori inspired childminder. I have recent First Aid, Food Hygiene and Child Protection training. I absolutely love working with children of all ages and believe I offer an environment that reflects this, full of fun, active and educational activities. The pleasure of seeing children grow up and gain independence and all the other elements of being around children is a perk!

My goal is to become as well qualified as possible to ensure that I could provide the best quality service for the children in my care. I am committed to continually developing my skills and expertise and as part of this I undertake regular training courses across all aspects of child care.

I am a fun loving mum of two energetic boys (8 and 3 years old). I also live with my husband who is an auditor and although he is hardly home when children are here, he is DBS checked.

I provide children a safe and caring Montessori led environment working under EYFS curriculum to ensure children in my care are flourishing both emotionally and academically. I have a wide variety of resources/equipment suitable for all ages catered to help enhance the learning and development of the children in my care whilst keeping them entertained.

Play is important business for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers so it’s something I take very seriously at Twinkle - Toes. Whether we’re inside or out I aim to create a nurturing and enabling environment that meets children’s needs and interests and allows them to shine.

I ensure children have plenty of free access to choose their own resources as well as setting up activities that are geared towards the children’s current interests and meet their individual next steps in their development.

Going on trips and going out into the big, wide world is exciting and important part of a child’s development. Gaining confidence and awareness of their surroundings, and interacting with their environment. Even in the rain and snow a range of learning opportunities and experiences are opened up so I ensure parents provide adequate clothing for children so we never miss out.

Children love being outside and the freedom to run around until their heart’s content. My garden has plenty of room for kids to run and stretch their legs as well as outdoor toys such as play house, slide, cars, sand pit, mud kitchen, swings and many more.

My passion for reading is something that I will make sure there is time for in every day to sit and read with your child. I ensure there is always a wide range of reading material suitable for all ages and many of my monthly topics come from the books that the children are loving at the moment.

As a childminder I find reading is a lovely way to bond with children and spend quiet one on one time with them as well as reading together in a group. I love using story puppets (made by myself) and singing nursery rhymes with different musical instruments.

If there are any particular activities your child loves doing let me know and I can be sure to include it for them.

I observe and assess children and track their progress to ensure they are making the utmost progress.
I ensure I risk assess, follow my procedures for outings and safety when out and about and make sure I have the correct permissions in place.

I understand how important it is to find the right childcare and the pressure placed on working parents and I therefore aim to be as flexible and reliable as I can. Being a parent myself, I understand the pain to be away from your child, keeping this in mind I will update you with your child's day with me through pictures and short video clips so you will never feel away from your child.

You will be able to accesses all information about your child's activities in the setting and while out and about, through your phone, ipad or laptop. I make sure that you will never miss those special moments.

I aim to provide flexible childcare to meet your family’s individual needs and working patterns.

I am able to provide places for the Free Early Education Entitlement for eligible 2 year olds as well as places for the 3 & 4 year old funding.

I offer term time only, school holiday care and all year round care.

My most recent Ofsted inspection was in January 2022 when I was still on my maternity leave so I was graded ‘MET’ as I wasn’t working.
