Hi my name’s Sophie and I have 3 years experience as a nanny. I graduated from the University of Bristol with a masters degree in Pharmacology and Neuroscience a couple of years ago and currently work in central London in management and strategy consulting for the Life Science’s sector.
I like to think of myself as a really friendly, caring and fun person and love working with children. I received first class honours and merit in my bachelors and masters degree course (science based) and achieved all A*-B grades in my GCSE and A-Levels so can be really helpful with homework and school assignments in all subjects. I have also worked as a dog walker so am very comfortable with animals and am more than happy to do housework, cooking and cleaning and take the children out for fun activities if needed. I have also been told that my bedtime story voices are outstanding, if that helps your decision.
My Experience
I am currently not working in childcare but in my previous post I worked as a nanny for 3 children (F aged 7, M aged 10 and F aged 12) in Bristol. I provided before and after school care, as well as maintaining the house (laundry, ironing, washing up, changing bed sheets etc.) and walking the dog for them. I had a great time looking after this family and getting to know them but could no longer be their nanny when I moved to London.
I have also worked as a nanny for a 5 year old girl (before and after school care), for a 2 year old girl (sole care during the day including feeding, changing and keeping entertained), as well as babysitting for family friends for the past several years whilst back at home during university holidays but I do have 2 younger sisters so I’ve been training as a babysitter for most of my life really.
I have also worked as a swim instructor for children between the ages of 3-9 so have experience outside of just babysitting.
My Qualifications
I achieved A*-B in all 12 of my GCSE’s and 4 A-Levels.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacolgoy and a Masters Research Degree in Neuroscience from the University of Bristol
