My Summary
About Me
My name is Ruth and I am a registered childminder. I am based in Hanwell, Ealing. I am married to Mustapha and we have two daughter's, both attend local schools in the area.
I have Spanish roots but was born and raised in the UK so I am fluent to an extent in the Spanish language. I grew up in Hanwell and still love to explore the parks. It's a lovely place to grow up.
Prior to childminding, I worked in accounts in credit controller for 12 years. After that I worked as a supervisor at a local school. I decided to become a childminder to enable me to spend time as a 'mum at home' with my family and provide quality childcare for other families.
I am committed to providing a fun, friendly, clean and safe environment for the children in my care. I endeavour to provide children with stimulating learning opportunities that reflect their age and stage of development through play and every day experiences. Children should be allowed to explore the world around them.
My setting is a home from home, not a nursery so the play area is my living room where many of the toys are. In my opinion, they have their whole lives to be in a structured environment. I believe if a child is happy and feels secure in their environment, they can achieve anything, doesn't matter where they are.
My main focus has always been communication. I try to develop their language skills, depending on age, as soon as they start in my setting as this to me is one of the most important stages.
I have a large garden that has various slides,a large sand pit and a mud kitchen. We also have lots of fruit plants growing in the garden that the children enjoy picking when the time comes. At the moment we are about to harvest strawberries.
Children learn a lot from touch so playing with sand and water is something I try to do daily. I also encourage them to play with mud and suggest to them, if they can find creepy crawlies like worms . This is a great opportunity for them to have fun, feel closer to nature and just be a child.
Being outside and learning about the environment in my opinion, is so important, walks to local parks are an everyday thing. I learned from my own children how important and fun it was to go on an adventure. Exploring even the local area was interesting and at the same time informative. So for me this is something we do everyday. An adventure is always on the cards. I believe children learn so much by just doing this. I allow children to explore their environment and explore who they are as a person, this is so important.
I also do activities at home but I always make sure this is child lead. We do painting and drawings, great way to remember colours and for pen control. We read stories and sing nursery rhymes on a daily basis. I have also started monthly themes, at the moment it's The Ocean, so we are learning about plastic waste, jellyfish, turtles, Nemo, Dory and where they live. A few weeks ago it was everything Jubilee so lots of crafts eg. Jubilee crowns.
I use my intuition to understand what every child needs. Every baby and toddler is an individual and I treat them with care, empathy and respect. I provide them with snacks and encourage the children to feed themselves depending on age.
I believe in working in partnership with parents; welcoming ideas and encouraging parents to provide me with comments and suggestions. I run my setting professionally, attending training opportunities, respecting confidentiality, keeping organised records in accordance with current guidelines. I have clear policies and procedures. I am committed to providing a reliable service that parents can depend on and in which they can place their confidence.
From September 2022 I will be using an online app called Tapestry. Which all my parents will be able to access to see their children's progress. I also will be adding photos and video to each child's profile.
I can provide care for children from birth to twelve years old in a home environment. I am happy to take on any child within my registered numbers and will not discriminate against children or their families for reasons such as race, religion, sex or ability.
My Experience
I have worked in childcare for over 5years now first as a nanny and now as a childminder and thoroughly enjoy watching the children in my care grow and develop into super creative kids. I also have my own children which keep me on my toes. A 13 year old teen daughter hardwork but is great with the little ones in my care, like a big sister. I also have a very active 8 year old girl, who loves having new little ones to play with. It's never a dull moment. Its all part of the fun.

Ruth was a delight to work with as well as trust my daughter to be taken care of
It was a home from home experience
Ruth being a family woman just knew the children so well and understood my daughters needs so quickly
I could write so much but my daughter became even more confident, language expanded & she potty trained so much easier because of Ruth’s expertise
My daughter is beyond milestones & also so interested in other children because of Ruth’s choices with taking them to many different spaces and activities
I felt so safe with Ruth and very much seen as a mother by her
Highly recommend this incredible woman because she’s amazing at her job but also a woman of heart
Your child will be treated with great care & still be their individual self
Thank you Ruth & family ☺️

Thank you so much for the amazing review. We are all going to miss her very much.
Ruth has a natural gift for entertaining and caring for children. They sense her love and feel safe when around her. I have watched my 6 year old grow to love Ruth. She'll always talk excitedly about what she did with Ruth and the other children and cannot wait to return for more fun and games.
She provides a professional approach to her role and yet her set up is very homey and definitely put my mind at ease.
I recommend Ruth highly and we are lucky to have found her.
My 5 year daughter loves Ruth like a mum and is always asking when she can go back and see the family. Ruth arranges active, fun and stimulating days for the children which they love. Ruth is always accommodating and nothing is too much to help you. I am a single dad and I don’t know what I would have done without her advice, support and love.
Warm, reliable lady , doing great job with my ADHD son , highly recommended
There’s not enough space to write about how wonderful Ruth has been as a childminder to my 5 year old!
She is a very warm, friendly and welcoming person and looked after my daughter like she was her own.
My daughter loved going to Ruth’s and the only reason she stopped was due to the pandemic. My daughter enjoyed the indoor and outdoor activities, food, and developed a bond with Ruth’s own children.
Ruth always communicated well with me (she’s very transparent and open) and I always felt that my daughter was in safe hands.
Ruth provides lovely, healthy meals and has a very laidback, loving approach. A real home away from home. Ruth would pick my daughter up from school - always punctual - and she also made sure my daughter did the homework I gave her, and helped her get ready for her gymnastics lessons.
I would 100% recommend Ruth for childcare. She’s excellent!
