My Summary
18 Years Childcare Experience
About Me
I am currently available and looking for a position of private tutor or babysitter. I adore working with babies and children, and I have over 18 years of experience. My main job is nannying a 6 year old with medical needs whilst tutoring/babysitting after school and on the weekends.
I love nannying as I enjoy the flexibility it allows you to bring to the job. One day we creating art and craft master pieces at home and the following day we exploring the science museum. I am passionate about supporting and encouraging children to explore life through a vast variety of activities, excursions and social interactions.
As a tutor, I encourage children to learn through play and repetition. I use a variety of tools and activities to support their leaning and boost their confidence. When I leave a session I want the child to feel excited about learning and confident in their abilities. My sessions have a main focus on Math, English, reading and handwriting but I am also happy to meet the needs of the child and the family. I currently work with children in key stage 1 and 2.
As an educator and carer I am patient, consistent, and firm but fun. I work with structure and promote it's importance for children's understanding and development.
My Experience
I have worked with children and young people for the past 18 years.
My roles have included babysitter, nanny, youth worker, mentor, teaching assistant, LSA, tutor, and P.E. teacher.
I previous position was as a Progressions Manager in a specialist independent secondary school, in which I worked for 14 years from 2008-2022 followed by a private LSA supporting a young boy with autism in a primary school from 2022-2024.
My experience also includes working within mainstream schools, special educational needs schools, and PRUs (pupil referral units).
Outside of my main role, my childcare roles have included: nanny, baby sitter, school drop offs and pick ups nanny, afterschool nanny, overnight nanny, and travel nanny. Within my roles of nanny and babysitter I have looked after babies and children of all ages, ranging from new born babies - 15 year olds and up to 18 years of age for children and young people with SEN. I have looked after single children and siblings and I have also worked in the role of nanny-share.
I love working with both children and young people. I find it easy to build meaningful, respectful, and positive relationships. Providing clear boundaries and structure so children can thrive and parents carry out their commitments confidently and carefree.

We used Jay when we were visiting London from Sweden and were staying at a hotel. I had to work late some evenings and Jay was super flexible in meeting our needs. My daughter had a wonderful time with Jay who took great care of her and kept her entertained and happy while I was away. Jay is a friendly and caring person and my daughter has requested her to babysit again!
Jay has been a nanny for my daughter (18 months old) for the last few months. She has been incredible - winning my clingy daughter over and helping me to navigate this time with my first child (I may be the more clingy one!!). Jay is reliable, professional and I trust her with my little one. I highly recommend Jay, she has an innate ability to care for children, I feel very fortunate to have found her!
Jay has been watching my daughter C weekly for 6 months now, since C was 4 months old. She is extremely attentive, punctual, and motherly; trusting her with C was immediate for my husband and me. She is also a joy to talk to and a shining light of positivity in the house! I cannot recommend her enough.
Jay has been working as a Learning support assistant for our son who has autism since September for three days a week. We have been extremely happy with her and my son adores her. She is reliable with her hours, caring and affectionate towards our son, but firm when needed. She works independently but also follows programmes from the SLT and OT. We hope she will continue to work with our son and don’t hesitate to recommend her for any childcare position.
Jay is fantastic, she fits in so well with our family and is so caring and loving towards our son. She has learned how to care for him when he is well and also when he is unwell and is competent in chest physio therapy, operating a bipap machine, sectioning, peg feeding and giving medications. Jay has never let us down and has such a brilliant bond with our son who adores her as do I and we feel very lucky to have found her
