About Me

My Name is Nikki Bevan, I have been married to my husband Dan for 9 years but we have been together for 20years. We have two daughters, 11 year old and 6 year old both currently attend Wickford primary school.
When I finished school, I went on to college to study Beauty Therapy, I studied for 2 year and became a fully qualified Beautician, although I still wasn’t sure if this was the right carer path for me. It was once I had finished college, I first started working with children, in a little country nursery, called The Wendy House, I worked there for 5 years and gained my Childcare qualifications and the foundation to my career in childcare. At The Wendy House, I worked mainly in the baby room, looking after and caring for babies as young as 3 months old. I worked and supported their parents on that difficult time of leaving their little bundle of joy to return to work. In my time in the baby room I planned little activities, helped with the weaning process and provided that love and affection that little ones need. I was then promoted to room leader and moved through the nursery to work with the ‘Pre-Schoolers’ which was very different but just as rewarding. Watching the children learn and develop in preparation for school.
I then moved to Essex to move in with Dan, I started work at Seymour House Day Nursery, where I worked for just short of 2 yrs. I worked in the nursery class and in the 2-3yr old room, again promoted to room leader and was heavily involved in the planning and day to day running of the room.
I was then offered a job at New Hall Independent and Boarding School in Chelmsford, which is where I have spent the last 9 years. I have been working with children ages 3-4 years and preparing them for their education journey through the school. The pupils at New Hall School have a very busy time table including, Forest School, Dance, French, Music P.E and much more. I have been involved in the planning, report writing, teaching and much more during my time at the school and have thoroughly enjoyed it.
During my time at New Hall Independent and Boarding School I have had my two children and each time I returned to work after 6 months to continue my career. I placed both my girls with childminders who have been amazing and now play a very important part in my girls’ lives, welcoming them into their own families and treating and loving them like their own.
But now I am ready to try my new adventure and spend some time with my children, returning the love and affection to other families and their little ones, when making that hard decision to return to work a little easier knowing that their child is being cared and supported in every way.
