About Me
Highly qualified and experienced Outstanding Ofsted Reg Childminder. I am a passionate early years professional and I'm an Ofsted Registered Childminder. Early childhood is the most important stage of developement in a child's life, it's a time of rapid brain development and physical growth. Children thrive best in environments that both nurture and challenge them and this is what I aim to do. In my practice I focus a lot on social / emotional and physical development in an oral rich environment. These are the building blocks for further learning and development because when a child moves freely they feel confident and co-ordinated and can pay attention and learn. All activities are play based and child-led; the adult sets up activities based on observations in both the indoors and outdoors (no matter what the weather, so suit up!!). I have a 6 yr old daughter and really appreciate parent-hood and all it's challenges, celebrations and concerns. I encourage an open honest relationship with parents so the child is understood and cared for holistically.
My Experience
I have 14 years experience in the field of Early Years ranging from Teaching Assistant, running a Steiner inspired Kindergarten, Graduate Preschool Lead to Childminding.
My Qualifications
BA (Hons) Degree in Early Childhood Studies;
MSocSc in Social Policy for Children and Young People. Qualified Childminder.
Paediatric First Aid Certificate (current),
Continuous Child Protection training,
Speech and Language,
Domestic Abuse Training,
Food Hygiene Training,
Covid19 Secure training.
Ongoing professional development. I keep a library of practical and academic literature which is consulted regularly.
My Availability
I am TERM TIME ONLY!!
No holiday services.
I open 5 days per week 8.00am-5.00pm. I currently have four spaces available for this aacademic year (September 2024 to July 2025).

My Fees
- Childminding from £10.00 per hour
My daily rate from September 2024 will be £85.00 which includes 2 meals and 2 snacks.
I accept funding and tax free childcare.

Our 2 year old has been with Mary for almost a year. We came to Mary after our child didn't settle well in Nursery. Mary has been amazing. Our child loves going to her (asks to go on days off!) and has made great friends. They are outdoors pretty much every day and do fun and educational playing when they're indoors. I honestly can't recommend Mary Reid highly enough
