My Summary
About Me
I provide a loving, nurturing environment and aim to meet the needs of each individual within my care, whilst attempting to retain traditional values and routines of ‘normal’ family life.
I offer daytime childcare for children 0 to 4 and before and after school wraparound care for school aged children. I live with my husband Craig and our three boys on the quiet housing estate, Woolley Grange.
I am a qualified teacher and have taught primary aged children for 20 years. I am extremely experienced in Early Education and have been the Foundation Stage Coordinator in two schools.
I am a huge believer in learning through play both indoors and outside and plan all of the experiences I offer for children with learning opportunities in mind. Through play, children develop language skills, their emotions and creativity, social and intellectual skills. It is here they practise new ideas, take risks, show imagination and solve problems on their own or with others. My role in facilitating play is crucial and with this in mind I will provide time and space and appropriate resources that will inspire play and fire children’s imaginations. I will observe play and join in when invited, watching and listening before intervening. I will also value their play and provide safe but challenging environments that support and extend learning and development.
My Experience
I am a qualified teacher with 20 years’ experience teaching primary aged children. I have held senior leadership positions in the schools I have taught in including Foundation Coordinator and Nursery Coordinator. As part of my Nursery Coordinator role, I have worked in and managed two nurseries within the same school, including a nursery for children aged 2 years who receive 2 year funding and a nursery for children aged 3-4. I have taught children in many different age groups from Reception to Year 6.

Level 3 award in Paediatric First Aid

We had to find Michelle at short notice and I am so glad we did. My daughter absolutely loved going and her family made her feel so welcome . Michelle’s background in teaching shone through in all the activities and outings, as well as providing a lovely home from home environment. My daughter was in Reuseable nappies when she started and Michelle was happy to use these too, whereas other places I had contacted would not . We can highly recommend Michelle .
Michelle is a fantastic childminder with vast experience in childcare settings.
Her years of teaching experience shine through when she interacts with the kids, how their activities are structured, her attention to detail and how her setting is designed to allow children to develop in a highly caring environment
Our little man loved going to her setting and never wanted to leave!
I would highly recommend Michelle
As a teacher myself I understand how important the early years of a child's life are, so you can imagine how picky I was when it came to finding childcare for my own child!
From the moment I met Michelle it was clear that she is passionate about what she does and the children that she cares for. She has found a wonderful balance of a home from home environment yet allows the children to have access to a range of activities that they would find in a nursery style setting.
From the first settling-in meeting Michelle, and the rest of her family, made my little boy feel welcome and at ease and he didn't even notice when I left!
He has had a fabulous time, and throughout Michelle has personalised things to cater for what my little boy needs. They have done things together that I would have done if I wasn't at work, which has really helped me to feel as though he hasn't missed out on anything.
I can't thank Michelle enough and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to others.
