My Experience

EMPLOYMENT AND WORK EXPERIENCE

March 2018 - April 2022
Live in Nanny
working as a full time live in nanny of 3 children under 10 and a puppy.
I started when the youngest was 9 months and left when the oldest was 10.

April 2016 – December 2017
MSC children’s childcare practitioner
I have served on three ships with MSC the most recent ship being the MSC Seaside where I worked with a team to set up the childcare centre and promote the brand new ship to appeal to both European and American audiences. Whilst on board I was co-room leader of the nursery for children aged 12 months to three years.
On board MSC Meraviglia and Divina, I supervised children aged between 12 months and 17 years in the crèche, junior club and teen centre. My job was to organise, create and run games and activities for the children and their parents. During the high season I was also asked to run and supervise shore excursions.

June 2015 - February 2016
Youth Staff for TUI
A summer contract, working with three to eleven year olds at a Family Resort in Corfu. During the quieter weeks, I also work in the crèche. Throughout the season I prepared and presented story based activities during the day and took part in the team shows in the evening. This placement also included PR activities promoting the child care facilities, plus booking in the children, keeping accounts and the general administration for the children in our care each week. Followed by a winter contract at a five star plus resort in Tenerife, working with children aged three to 12 years; providing fun, age appropriate activities throughout the children’s holiday. The main concept of the resort was playing and enjoying through your senses, so I had to adapt the techniques and actives from previous roles and learn new activities to fit in with this five star resort.

January 2015 – May 2015
Disney Cruise Youth Activities Councillor
A fixed contract working in all areas of childcare from the nursery to youth activities, on board the Fantasy Disney Cruise Ship in the Caribbean. This included booking the children into care, liaising with parents, organising daily activities on board and onshore, as well as, maintaining cleanliness of all the youth activity areas.

September 2012 – November 2012
Tinies Nursery – Temporary Nursery practitioner
As a substitute nursery practitioner working at different locations as required, between seasonal contracts.
September 2013 – December 2014
Tinies at Hillcroft College – Permanent Nursery practitioner
Working in the two to five year olds’ room, carrying out daily care routines and providing challenging and stimulating activities based around the children’s interests and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Working with six key children, preparing individual learning plans and ensuring that they met all key developmental milestones. Communicating their achievements with the parents on a daily basis.
While working with Tinies I completed paper work and observations in line with the Ofsted requirements.

December 2012 – April 2013
Ski Beat - Ski school/ Crèche Nanny – French Alps
Working as a ski school nanny, taking sole care of small groups of children aged four to nine years. Preparing and taking them to their ski lessons first thing in the morning, returning to the Chalets to provide them with a snack then crafts, games and inside activities. I planned and prepared healthy lunches daily and took them after lunch to the snow garden to entertain them with age appropriate activities.
At the end of the season, outside the school holiday periods, I worked as a crèche nanny where the children were between three months and three years. Providing basic care, such as, nappy changing, meals and sleep routines.
