About Me
I am an Autism specialist with experience of parenting my own autistic child. I coach and support parents/carers of children on the autistic spectrum to enable and empower them and their child to be the best they can be.
My approach is primarily relational - I believe in building relationships before seeking solutions - and individualised. No two children are the same, so responses should be personalised to their particular strengths and challenges!
I can help you to understand your child better, learn how to progress their communication skills and create better relationships. I can also help you to understand what may not be working for them in their school environment and what reasonable adjustments you can ask for. I am optimistic about what our children can achieve, with the right support. When we know better, we can do better!
My Experience
I have worked professionally for over 10 years with children who have an autistic spectrum diagnosis and some children who are not yet diagnosed. Some of my clients have a child with a language or other developmental delay, others would more easily fit an Asperger's profile. My involvement with a family can be short or long-term, depending on the need and goals.
My Qualifications
I have a Masters Degree in Autism Education from the University of Birmingham.
