About Me
START DATE ASAP 2024 - BR POSTCODES
I’m Lois and I am an experienced and qualified Nanny and Nursery Nurse who has been working in childcare for 7 years now. I am a very enthusiastic and bubbly person who enjoys meeting new people and forming good relationships. I am passionate about working with young children and enjoy watching them progress and develop, becoming their own person with their own personalities. I enjoy having the opportunity to make a positive impact on people’s lives and work hard to achieve my goals and ambitions. I find myself very reliable and hardworking, with a clear and logical mind, which comes in handy when working with young children.
My Experience
I worked for an amazing family for 3 years as a private Nanny, helping to raise their 2 lovely girls. Over this time I have watched the girls grow up and supported them in reaching their milestones, as well as becoming fully a part of their family.
Being the family Nanny, I undertook several responsibilities, some of which included cooking healthy meals for the children (and occasionally the whole family), planning fun days out and play dates during the holidays, taking care of house upkeep (keeping play areas and the kitchen tidy and organised as well as keeping on top of the children’s laundry) and travelling with the family on holiday both in the UK and abroad.
My job as a Nanny also meant maintaining the children’s daily routines, a big part of which was doing the school runs and ensuring that they took part in activities that would enrich their learning as well as being fun while they were out of school. This involved taking them to weekly clubs (such as interactive story telling classes, sports clubs, dance clubs etc) and setting up activities at home (such as various arts and crafts/messy activities, construction, baking etc).
The children’s daily routine additionally involved helping them with their self care and personal hygiene (daily bath time, teeth brushing, toilet training, hand washing etc) and putting them down for bed/nap time. I also enjoyed getting involved in planning birthdays/family events and catering for them, including making birthday cakes and setting up the venue with decorations, entertainment etc.
As well as working during the day for the family, I was also happy to provide babysitting after work hours if the children’s parents had prior engagements/events they had to attend/were working late. There were also occasions where I would stay at their home overnight and look after the children for a few days while the parents went away on mini breaks/getaways.
Prior to being a Nanny I worked at private nursery as a nursery nurse for 3 years that provided childcare for children from the age of 3 months to 5 years old. Over this time I completed my level 2 and level 3 qualifications in childcare. I also have a level 2 in Safeguarding and First Aid training.
Working there provided me with hands on experience in working with children of a variety of ages, much like my work as a Nanny. I started out as an apprentice and worked my way up to becoming a nursery nurse, taking on more responsibilities as I progressed, including completing developmental portfolios for the children, tracking their milestones according to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and supporting them in reaching their full potentials.
Again, working at a nursery allowed me to experience the full set of responsibilities that comes with working with young children, from napping and toilet training to dealing with challenging behaviour and teaching them about shapes, numbers and letters.
After leaving my long term Nanny family, I did some temporary nanny work for another family until a placement opened up at a nursery for their two children. Their children were 1 and 3 at the time (very close to turning 2 and 4). I worked for them full time, 5 days a week, doing much of the same as I did for my previous Nanny family. Some of which included, keeping the children’s play areas and communal areas tidy, doing the children’s laundry, cooking nutritious meals, taking the children out to local parks and clubs, planning and engaging in play activities in the home and maintaining the children’s daily routine.
My most recent employment was at a Fennies nursery and I undertook the role of Level 3 Room Leader of the baby room (children aged between 3 and 14 months). Working as the room leader not only meant planning and setting up fun and innovative day to day activities, but managing a team of staff while maintaining the room’s and children’s routine. Much like the other nursery, I completed daily observations on the children, linking with the EYFS, as well as writing baseline assessments and progress check reports and completing “All about me” forms when we had a new child start. It was very important to keep track of where each child was at developmentally and setting up focus activities to ensure they had the opportunity to reach their learning milestones.
In the baby room, a big part of the day to day routine was supporting children at different stages in weaning and making up formula and expressed breast milk bottles. Another part was maintaining each child’s individual nap schedule, putting them to sleep in the correct manor and providing plenty of comfort when needed.
I formed good relationships with my colleagues and enjoyed building bonds with the children and their parents, giving daily handovers as to what their child had been up to throughout the day and if there was anything else they needed to be aware of.
I have now left Fennies and am looking for another job as a full time Nanny.
I am happy to carry out daily routines and activities with the children in my care, from bath and meal times to taking them out to the park or soft play. I will also help them learn and progress in all aspects of their development. I will work closely with you as parents and your child/children to ensure they receive the best care and an enabling environment for them to learn and grow.
Ideally looking for work in BROMLEY/BECKENHAM/SHORTLANDS areas but open to other areas if job fits.

Lois has been an outstanding nanny for our 2 girls for the past 3 years. She took exceptionally good care of our girls (now aged 4 & 7) full time over that period. We are moving to a different part of the country in the summer and are very sad to part ways.
Her duties included school drop-off and pick-ups, choosing, organising and attending classes / activities / days out playdates for them. She spent quality time playing with them at home indoors & in the garden, as well as local parks / playgrounds. She planned, bought & prepared meals (including sometimes for the whole family), kept their rooms (and the house) in order, sorted their clothing and washing, including shopping for items as needed. During lockdown, she led their home schooling and kept them happy and entertained whilst we both worked full time.
We have travelled / taken her on holiday both within the UK and abroad, including to respective grandparents, and she’s always been a delight to have around, with a perfect balance between being a real part of the family and having her own space / time.
She also makes incredible food (salmon en croute, instagram ready cakes etc) and is great at tidying and organising the home (especially the kitchen, and their laundry has never been so neatly folded before).
She is reliable and punctual, whilst being very flexible around a family’s ever-changing needs. She has provided the girls a loving and fun environment whilst setting firm boundaries for behaviour and supporting their development. Her energy and enthusiasm are unmatchable - she’s always bubbly, chatty and has never been in a bad mood at work!
Mary Poppins, Mary Berry and Marie Kondo wrapped into one. Her next family is lucky to have her.
