My Summary
About Me
Hello! I am 22 and currently on my NQN year with Norland College, studying Early Years Learning and Development (BA Hons).
Feel free to ask any questions and if you would like to see my references, let me know.
I look forward to hearing from you!
My Experience
I was born and brought up in a lovely village in Oxfordshire. I am very family orientated and enjoy all family gatherings and celebrations.
In recent years I have become involved with a charity called ‘GO MAD’ (Go Make A Difference), it focuses on helping desperately poor people in Tanzania I was so moved by their situation and knew I had to make my difference. I organized fundraising events to raise money for projects such as building water tanks, toilets, goat sheds etc.
From an early age I have wanted a career in childcare. I have been babysitting for various families for several years and I did a week of Work Experience at a local nursery whilst in year 10 and immediately I knew my vocation was to work with children. I attended Oxford College to do an NVQ level 3 course, and continued my placement at the same nursery, then as a bank staff member between my studies, together with babysitting, this helped me explore and understand child development at different ages. I have welcomed every opportunity presented to me to gather more knowledge and experience.
During the first year of my college course I had two placements, one was at a state school working with Foundation Early Years where I gained valuable experience in learning to respond to each child according to the stage they were at. The other was at a private school working with year 1 for both settings I was given the responsibility to plan and carry out a range of activities and I learned to think on my feet, I also had to evaluate how well these activities worked and observe the children. I have valued the experience of working with babies through to preschool age. I was given the opportunity to go to Poland to experience childcare in a different country, it was an observational work placement for one week, it was very interesting to see very young children learning several languages.
In addition to my NVQ level 3, I undertook additional courses in my own time: I passed a Pediatric First Aid Training, a two week Nannying course, and online courses of ‘Allergy awareness’ and ‘Serving the allergic and food intolerant customer’ , ‘Behavioral safety’, ‘Diversity Awareness’ , ‘Childhood Illnesses’ and ‘Illness, medication and allergy policy’.
Once I had completed my NVQ level 3, this enabled me to attend Norland College in Bath, this is a three year university degree course in all aspects of childcare. Since my time at Norland I have completed work experience in a number of settings, nannied at a wedding and nannied during lockdown over the summer for two amazing little boys, and homeschooled the eldest.
My Qualifications
I took my GCSE exams in spring 2017 in English, Maths, Science, Textiles, PE, French and Geography.
I've got an A* in NVQ Cache level 3 Childcare
Level 5 in Early years
6-hour paediatric first aid course

Millie (or Mimi as my two year old calls her) was a fantastic nanny for my for my two boys. She had amazing energy and a wonderful connection with them. She was great at planning activities in advance to ensure they developed well and had fun and did lots of home work with my 5 year old. Millie took time to plan and prepare meals. I can’t recommend Millie enough!
