My Summary
About Me
Hiya. My name is Theresa. I was a teacher for 8 years, teaching in and leading Year R.
I had a little boy, Hugo, in October 2019 and couldn't imagine leaving him. For this reason, I became a childminder. I have since had another little boy, Percy (born March 2022) and a baby girl, Lilia (born March 2024). My school therapy dog, Callie (cavapoo born Oct 2016), works at my setting, too.
My husband also works with children, teaching football and mutiskills to children from 2 years and works in a Primary school as a Sports Coach.
I am passionate about the way in which children develop and learn. I believe that children require lots of positive reinforcement, stimulation, and fun experiences to thrive. I also believe they need to feel safe and secure in a setting in order to feel happy and be able to explore and learn. I am a kind-natured, smiley, and bubbly person who will always put the children's needs first.
Although boundaries and safety are highly important. I believe in following a child's lead in what they do, and a baby's needs in regards to eating and sleeping. I will always be there to soothe and reassure if needed and will not leave a baby to cry (I feel strongly about this so if you require this, please look elsewhere as I won't be the right setting for you).
My setting is heavily based on being outdoors and with nature whenever we can be, whether it be in the garden, walking the dog or getting muddy and wet in the rain, or in the mud kitchen. We are outside in all weather (as long as the children are happy) and will spend time playing games and being energetic in the nearby fields and wooded areas. We visit a farm and various play areas on a weekly basis as well as soft play, museums, and animals centres.
I aim to keep the number of children I have low, if I can, in order to give them the best opportunities and the attention they deserve. I want the children in my care to feel loved and valued. They will be treated as I would treat my own family. The children I have are mostly 2 and under. I don't currently provide wrap around care.

I can not recommend Theresa enough! My little boy has spent 2 years with her and hes loved every minute. She is amazing, she cares so much for the children and makes sure they have something different to play with each week.
She sends such lovely photos as well and it really shows how happy my little one is.

My son spent a year being cared for by Theresa (from age 2-3).
Every single day he spent Littletrees, he had new exciting experiences. From creative activities within the home, to visits to the farm or other local attractions, and daily walks that were always made both fun and educational. In fact I’d say this sums up each day- fun and educational. My son always looked forward to attending.
Theresa cares for the children like they’re her own. She encourages, supports and guides them with their confidence and personal growth.
I would get updates often throughout the day, so I always felt content that my son was happy and safe. I always felt like the communication was perfect. I was always asked if I was happy for my son to visit the various places Theresa would take the children to before the event.
Theresa provided a nutritional breakfast every morning, and fruit was always available for snack.
I was so anxious about going back to work and leaving my son with a stranger, but I honestly couldn’t have asked for someone better to look after my little boy, and if I am ever in the situation where I need childcare again, I will 100% be requesting Theresa.
