The Rosary Catholic Primary School
Thornton Primary School
More Schools can be discussed!
I appreciate and understand we are all in a bit of difficulty right now, perhaps some of us more than others, and I'll do my best to accommodate your circumstances, needs & situation.
I'm a CACHE Level 2 Qualified Practitioner, who has worked extensively over the years in both a paid and voluntary capacity with Children and Young People, in both Early Years, Education - As well as in and with Special Needs. I've worked across a number of locations and settings across Birmingham & the wider West Midlands area including Creches, Early Years settings, Nurseries, Stay & Plays, as well as Before & After School Clubs, Primary Schools & Secondary Schools.
I've also previously volunteered for Autism West Midlands for a number of years on their Walsall Befriending Project - Which has enhanced my experience working with those who hae Autism, and those in the process of receiving a diagnosis.
I'm one of a handful of Male Practitioners in the Early Years sector, which I find helps me build an excellent rapport and relationship with the Children I have had the great joy, honour, and pleasure to work with - As they are often devoid of Male Practitioners both in the setting, and at home, as well as Positive Male Role Models across Early Years.
I find Children warm to me very easily whenever I am covering in an Early Years setting, and as a result of this, I am able to engage with Children more effectively, leading to positive results.
I have also volunteered as a Reading Helper through Beanstalk helping Children in Birmingham with 1:1 support with their reading across three Primary Schools in Birmingham. This meant children who were struggling with reading improved in their reading over the course of the academic year.
I am currently in the process of registering with Ofsted as a Babysitter / Childminder / Nanny, and have uploaded a DBS, First Aid, & a UK Passport to my profile on this site which you can view.
My background has seen me undertake roles in Autism, Early Years, & in Education as a Cover Supervisor, Early Years Practitioner, Exam Invigilator, Lunchtime Supervisor, Play Worker, & in Special Needs across a number of SEN settings in Birmingham and the wider West Midlands area where I've been supporting Children and Young People with a wide range of disabilities & special needs including Autism, Global Developmental Delay, Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment & Wheelchair users.
With that said, I look forward to communicating with you :)
______________________________________________
I have extensive experience in Education, & SEND, having worked as a Cover Supervisor, Exam Invigilator, Lunchtime Supervisor, Playworker, & Special Needs, as well as having served as a School Governor at Audley Primary School in Birmingham.
I have volunteered with Autism West Midlands for several years on their Befriending Project in Walsall, which involved arranging one activity session and one topic session every month for adults with Autism.
This enabled adults with Autism as well as those in the process of being diagnosed, which can often be a daunting, stressful, and traumatic experience, to build their confidence, social skills, meet new people, and develop new skills, in a calm, relaxed, environment.
Extra precautions were taken to prevent sensory overload. This was greatly appreciated and valued by both Carers & Parents.
I have been working in a number of Education settings across Birmingham, Coventry, and the wider West Midlands area, which have included Broadway Academy, Grace Academy in Coventry, Hamstead Hall Academy, Kings Norton Girls School & Sixth Form, Tudor Grange Academy, both Kingshurst & Solihull sites, Smiths Wood Academy, & Willenhall E-ACT Academy & SEN settings as a Teaching Assistant including Brays School, Calthorpe Academy, Fox Hollies School, Mayfield School, and more recently Queen Alexander College.
These SEND settings enabled me to work with Children and Young People with a wide range of Disabilities, & Special Needs, including Autism, Global Developmental Delay, Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment, & Wheelchair users.
I have volunteered for Home-Start, which is aimed at helping Parents who are in difficulty and in need of extra support. Sometimes, this support was in the form of advice, form-filling, emotional support, a listening ear, or signposting.
I can build a great rapport with Governors, Staff, Students & Visitors.
Having worked with Children & Young People in Education, I am always able to handle safeguarding concerns and know how to follow confidentiality measures.
My involvement in Autism West Midlands, has enabled me to plan and run support groups, as well as gain a greater understanding of Autism and how best to support those with Autism, and those in the process of being diagnosed.
During my time at Home-Start, I was constantly engaging with Parents, & Carers, and planning activities suited to them and their child at a time and place which was convenient to them, often in their homes, or using local spaces, such as community centres and libraries; and acting as the first port of call should any issues arise.
These roles have equipped me with the experience, knowledge, skills, and tools needed to succeed in a school environment.
As someone who was a School Governor, I am aware of the critical need to engage with Parents & Carers as well as understanding Safeguarding, and how crucial it is to promote good School attendance and punctuality and how to tackle poor attendance.
My involvement in the organisations mentioned and my role as a School Governor, have enabled me to develop a sensitive and understanding approach, who can have difficult conversations with families, and can support people in distress and crisis.
I am a hard-working, reliable, patient, and calm individual who has gained an immense amount of experience, having worked within the fast food, retail, and childcare industries.
These roles have enabled me to develop excellent communication and interpersonal skills alongside exceptional customer service skills.
They have also enabled me to work with a wide range of people from different abilities and backgrounds, which has allowed me to develop, grow, and learn from some of the best in the industry.
I am always confident in communicating with people at all levels while always ensuring confidentiality. Having worked with children & young people for several years, I am aware of the importance of creating and maintaining an environment in which children and young people can flourish, thrive, and succeed.
I can work very well as part of a team and on my own initiative, and I always endeavour to achieve the best and take a flexible and organised approach in the workplace.
Given the opportunity, I am always open to other career opportunities where I can make a positive difference in the workplace.
Outside of the workplace, I take a keen interest in Horticulture, Photography, Rambling, and Reading, and I am involved in several causes and initiatives locally, aimed building bridges, community cohesion, and celebrating diversity, and inclusion, and I currently coach football on a Sunday with Junior Academy of Birmingham Sports (JABS B8 FC)

Shabraz was very friendly and polite on our first meeting. My daughter was smiling and holding his hand on a walk to the park. I like that Shabraz has lots of relevant qualifications and knowledge when it comes to childminding. Introductory session went on for 2 hours and she bonded really well. Definitely recommend!
