My Summary

My Experience

I have a vast amount of experience in babysitting for friends and family. I also have years of experience in doing the school run/cooking as I have often done it for my 11 year old sister. I also have a lot of experience in caring for people with special needs, as my older brother is disabled. Due to this experience at home, along with my participation with a special needs summer camp (PHAB Camp), I have good listening and communication skills. I am really organised and methodical, as I usually administer medication to my brother. I would say that my experiences have resulted in me becoming quite empathetic, I love establishing a rapport with children and I love taking on new responsibilities.

I also completed work experience at a primary school for a week and took on a range of responsibilities ranging from teaching small groups of children, to safeguarding classes on a school trip. I have therefore had to calmly deal with difficult children as well and I know how to handle pressure very well.

My participation in a Solihull Samaritans Listening Session trained me on how to listen to people of all ages and try to under their needs and behaviour empathetically. I was also taught techniques on how to establish a rapport and build connections with people and make them feel comfortable and at ease. I am confident that I can transfer these skills that I learnt and developed to situations when I am responsible for the care of children.

During my time at Secondary School, I was a peer mentor. I regularly scheduled meetings with younger students who had just started their senior school journey and was able to offer them advice and tutoring on subjects they struggled with. As I lacked a mentor myself at that age, I was able to offer experience and comfort to shy students who did not really open up so easily, which required me to gain their trust and form connections with them.

My Qualifications

I have completed my degree studying Law with Criminology at Birmingham City University and studied at Solihull School for 7 years prior to University.

My schedule is quite flexible. I am almost always available early evenings until late.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £11.00 per hour

My usual rate is £11 an hour for babysitting. Fees can always be discussed so please don't hesitate to message. Travel would also need to be covered.
