We are a family of four, consisting of our two sons, our dog (a toy poodle), and our chickens in the garden. We love being out in the forest, mostly the trees, and then in the garden all other times.
I work mostly from home and need help at least three times a week, preferably Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 3 to 6 p.m., after the children's school and childminder.
My Requirements
We need a self-employed nanny who could do school/childminder pickups for my two sons, 6 and 4, and provide wrap-around care after school/ nursery. We are looking for an experienced nanny (or someone with a career and experience in childcare) with a good understanding and practice of Gentle/ Curious Parenting approach, seeks to connect with the children first to empathise before teaching them a new way, and clear but warm in your teaching of any boundaries. Someone who can effectively keep children safe from everyday dangers (cars, getting lost, injuries etc.) and a Non-smoker.
Main duties will be to pick up/ drop off at the nursery/ school during Term Time, provide afterschool snacks, and wind-down activities like trips to the park, playground, or just play in the garden, generally providing some stimulating and engaging activities so that they won't rely on TV for it (which will be discouraged while you are with them). Walks outside, gardens, parks and local playgrounds/ soft plays are preferred.
