About Me
My name is Paula, I am 34 years old and Portuguese-Brazilian. I am passionate about children and their developmen and have studied about Early Childhood ( "Physical, Cognitive and Psychomotor development" and "An in depth look at diverse learners" in LIU Post (Long Island University- NY - USA). i used to work as a Primary and pre-school teacher. I love teaching, reading, swimming, Art, playing the piano and making new friends. I also love to travel and get to know different cultures. What I love the most about children is their curiosity about the world and everything around them and how funny, spontaneous and affectionate they can be :)
My Experience
I have a degree in Languages and Literature and Post Graduation in Neuroscience at Schoone in Bilingual Education. In Brazil I used to work as a primary and preschool teacher. My first job as a nanny was looking after a 5 months old baby, because I wanted to add some practice to my studies at the time, which were on Reggio Emilia and Montessori approaches. Then I moved to the USA where I worked as a nanny for two different families (2015-2017) and studied a bit more about Childhood Development. Back in my home country I was a tutor in the course of Pedagogy on the approaches on Emmi Pikler and Winnicott. I moved to London and had a great experience looking after two girls (3 and 5 years old) then after babies and toddlers, form birth to 2yo. All my roles as a nanny included takin children to classes, playgroups, preparing healthy meals (or weaning), potty training, engaging the children in Educational Activities, and of course, playing :)
