About Me
I am a Ofsted registered Childminder based in Heyford Park, Bicester. My setting is open plan, and the back doors open out to a lovely secure back garden. I offer a warm and welcoming environment, with a home from home atmosphere. I have been in childcare for 12 years and I absolutely adore it.
I implement the early years foundation stage into each day by setting up fun activities based on each of the children’s interests, this helps them learn and gain their next steps of development whilst they’re playing and exploring and having lots of fun!
The outdoors is of course very important, so it plays a big part of the daily routine as much as possible. The everyday routine includes free play with puzzles, books, singing, dancing, a variety of construction blocks, sensory/nessy play, water play, play dough, small world play and lots more!
My Experience
I started childcare 12 years ago in a early years nursery as a room manager for 0-2 years. Throughout this role I worked in all the rooms (under 1’s - 5 years). Here I gained my level 3 qualification, and lots of experience on children’s development and learning.
After the day nursery, I worked as a full time live out nanny caring for 3 young children, one of whom had very complexed special needs. Which taught me lots of medical and SEN experience.

Shannon has been the most caring and brilliant childminder to my daughter Romy who started with Shannon at 1 years old and has been with her for a year. It was clear from the moment we met that the children shannon cared for were very attached and had bonded beautifully with her. The environment is relaxed and homely, without the usual chaos that comes with childminding. Romy had the most fantastic year with Shannon and formed such a strong and lovely bond with her. My daughter even closed the door on me when dropping her off! Couldnt recommend Shannon more highly <3

I cannot recommend Shannen enough, she has been absolutely amazing with my 2 year old daughter from the very start. They are always doing such fun things and learning so much.
Nothing is ever too much trouble and communication is great.
