About Me

I love working with children and I find this job very rewarding and children respond well to me. I am trustworthy and organised person, I am motivated to learn new skills and to keep children happy healthy and developing in many ways. I am hard working and enthusiastic I am mother of two children age 18 and 9.

My Experience

c) Experience of working with relevant age groups within a learning environment in different nurseries setting.
I worked with children aged 2 to 5 years providing an enabling environment in which all individual children could play, develop, and learn. I was responsible for effectively delivering the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interest of different age groups of children in the setting were met (in conjunction with other team members). During this time, I was supported and engaging play and helped the children to dress up and take on the role of the professional in the role play area. They would act out doctor, nurse, builder, policeman/woman. I especially planned and led a holistic play and other activities where I was assessed. This included leading play where the children planted different colours and variety of flowers the messy play area in the garden. I encouraged them to count the different colours, decide different weighs, what was heavy and what is lighter for example – all of this expanded their vocabulary. One of my most enjoyable moments for assessor and children and myself was developing the social and emotional skills of children with music. One child was playing drum and making music in the home corner and her friend were dancing, I joined in and, the children showed their excitement as they laughed, danced, and enjoyed the music together.
I also gave them the confidence to engage in outdoor play areas, reading stories, completed crafts, and teaching the children numbers, letters and writing their name.
During the time when I was employed as a Childminding Assistant, I was responsible for supporting class tutor in looking after different ages of children (0 to 12 years). In this role I was involved in planning a variety of daily activities that promote the emotional social, physical, and language/communication development and all other areas of learning. I carried out observations and risk assessments. During sleep times I would check children’s temperatures just by touching their forehead. If I ever felt, they were too hot I would check with a thermometer. Only once did a child have a high temperature. I reported this to the lead childminder and wrote a record of the incident which would be given to the parent to sign. I would always ensure the register was accurate and up-to-date and ensure children were being picked up by authorised parent or guardian. In all the activities I would consider ways to best support the child to strengthen and deepen their current level of learning and development.

Dija was a wonderful nanny who cared for our son for a few weeks before our move. We had an excellent experience with her. She always kept us updated with photos of their activities and quickly became a part of our family.
