About Me

Hello!

My name is Thea Ellis and I have just finished my final year at Durham University where I am reading Philosophy and Politics.
During my gap year I was a gap assistant at Twyford School, working with children aged 2-13. I spent most of my time with Nursery, Reception, and Year 3 meaning I have experience with children of varying ages. I was involved in aiding the children's reading, supervising their music lessons, and games sessions. I was required to be punctual, organised, and engaged 6 days a week from 8am to 6pm. During my time at Twyford, I undertook both Lifeguard and First Aid training and therefore feel very confident looking after children in any situation. I am also DBS chcked and have a full driver's license.
In addition, I have babysat for multiple families around Hampshire with children aged 2-8 and am happy to provide references from these families.
I absolutely love baking, reading, and sport, especially riding, lacrosse, and swimming. I love animals so happy to walk dogs and just generally help out around the house.
I am also a Level 2 BASI Ski Instructor and can teach in both a snowdome and on the slopes if this is of any interest. As a part of my training, I shadowed a ski instructor for a week, helping teach a group of 10 5/6-year-olds! This really boosted my confidence in my childcare abilities as I feel as though if I can look after a group of children on skis, I am more than capable of looking after children in a more regular setting!
