About Me
My name is Kath and I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder based in Atherton. I am compassionate, loving, caring, motherly, hardworking and reliable and I adore working with children.
I live with my husband and 2 young children in my lovely home near Atherton central train station. I have a safe and secure home and spacious garden offering children lots of opportunities for indoor and outdoor play.
I believe every child is unique and should be given every opportunity to be nothing less than their best. I believe children thrive and develop the most in a home from home environment, providing more one on one care and plenty of opportunities to explore outdoors and within the community.
I love watching and helping children grow and develop and building relationships with the children and their families and being a home from home for the children. Being a mother myself, I know how important it is to be sure that your child is safe, secure and well cared for as well as happy and stimulated, which is what I ensure of any child in my setting. I provide a positive, homely, caring and fun environment for children.
I follow the EYFS framework providing stimulating activities through a variety of equipment, resources and toys via indoor and outdoor play and daily trips and outings in the local community.
I promote healthy eating and regular exercise which I feel is hugely important for not only my own children, but any children in my care. We love to get out and about and do regular trips to parks, forest walks, libraries, play groups and soft play centres.
My Experience
I love working with children and being a mother myself to 2 young children, I have a wealth of experience over the last 10 years and am able to offer care, comfort and love and compassion to any children in my care.
After most of my working life in the finance industry and more recently the care industry, I decided following the birth of my second Daughter in 2021, to pursue my real passion and dream to work with children and set up my own childcare business. Being a fairly new venture, I am highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed. Nothing makes me happier than seeing children grow and develop and interact and play and learn with other children. I am committed to work with parents and their children in every way possible to achieve the very best for their children and provide updates to parents on the child's progress and development and regular communication with parents of their child's daily activities.

Free 15/30 hours government funding for 2, 3 & 4 year olds accepted.

I needed a childminder quick and Kath accommodated this, my grandaughter is 2 and had never been to any setting but settled in from day one. And her development as come on leaps and bounds, kath is always updating me with pictures and takes my grandaughter on trips to park and soft play. I cannot recommend her service enough

Kaths kiddie kingdom is amazing! I am actually struggling for the words to describe what a fabulous time my daughter has had at Kaths and how we will miss them so much. My daughter was 9 and spent nearly 2 years under their services. Always happy when she came home, had amounts of fun and day trips. Kath goes above and beyond for the children in her care. It is always hard to trust people for the first time but I can assure that Kath is the most honest, reliable and loyal person I have ever met! Hopefully a friend for life and I have no doubt in my mind that she will be my biggest recommendation to anyone who needs childcare.

In November last year, I decided to pull my 1 year old son out of nursery as I decided a child minder would be much more suited for him. After lots of visits and interviews, Kath was the one who really stood out to me because of her friendly and warm welcome and just the general presence I felt when I met her at her lovely home. She clearly had a passion for looking after children and it just felt right to choose her to look after my son… call it a mother’s instinct. So my son started with Kath full time Monday - Friday and I can’t believe how quickly he bonded with her! My son isn’t the most sociable of babies so I thought we’d have a battle on our hands but he absolutely loves going to Kath’s now and he can’t wait to get through her door each morning! Kath is a wonderful, kind and loving child minder. She takes my son out every day for a walk on the school run morning and afternoon so I know he gets his fair share of fresh air! She takes him to play group at least twice a week and takes him on adventures in the woods! Kath also cooks him a healthy breakfast, dinner and tea every day and she completes a detailed log in his journal each day so I can see what he has been up to and what he has eaten. I know the food is good as most times he has double portions lol! My son’s development has also come on leaps and bounds since he started with Kath … as I am a full time working parent, I have limited time to teach my son the basics of walking, talking and feeding so Kath helps and does the hard work for me! He has grown so confident with his ability to stand up unaided and it won’t be long now til he is walking! Kath also sends me photos every week of the activities my son is taking part in which I love! I am so glad I chose Kath to care for my son, I trust her with all my heart and I know my son is going to grow up in a happy and safe environment as he goes ready for reception in a couple of years. Thanks for everything you do Kath, you are amazing xx

My daughter, aged 7 has been cared for by Kath after school for the last few months and she loves it. My daughter always comes home happy and smiling saying she has enjoyed her time with Kath. I have struggled with childcare for the last few years and Kath has been amazing, she goes above and beyond to provide an outstanding service. Couldn't appreciate enough the help and support that I have recieved.

My 12 week old daughter goes to kath and everyday I drop her off she smiles when she sees kaths face, since going she has come on so much rolling over, gurgling and grabbing things, kath is amazing and you can tell she really loves what she does I can't recommend her enough nothing is too much trouble if you have to drop off earlier because of work she's more then happy to let you, I feel confident leaving my daughter with her.
