About Me
I believe tutoring shouldn’t feel like school. It should be a fun, interactive way to boost your child's writing skills, filled with games and activities that put them at the heart of the lesson. With me, writing becomes an exciting adventure where your child learns to plan, structure, and edit their work—sprinkling in similes, metaphors, and impressive vocabulary to make their stories truly sparkle!
Once they’re buzzing with motivation, I’ll guide them gently through grammar and spelling, building their confidence with every step.
My Experience
Somewhere between my English Literature & Education degree and helping a class invent a superhero made of custard, I realised my true passion: inspiring children to discover their story-writing bug! ?
Over the past eight years as a teaching assistant and tutor, I’ve had the joy of working with 43 brilliant children — and I’m proud to say many have come back for a second, third, or even fourth year!
I’ve also trained with the Bristol Dyslexia Centre, and most recently, I’ve teamed up with HurstWorks in Hurstpierpoint to run a weekly story-writing and poetry group — a fun, relaxed way for children to boost their skills and confidence together.
My Qualifications
I’ve got a BA (Hons) in English Literature & Education — the perfect mix of language know-how and insight into how children learn best. I’ve also worked as a Teaching Assistant in primary schools, supporting children with everything from sentence structure to story sparks, and helping them feel confident every step of the way.
My Availability
I’m available during term time from 12 pm to 8 pm, and I’m always happy to arrange half-term sessions if needed — just ask!

My Fees
- Tutoring from £35.00 per hour
Lessons are £35 per hour. Here's exactly what's included:
* One-to-one tutoring at your home in Steyning, Shoreham or Burgess Hill.
* A 60-minute session focusing on your child's specific learning needs – whether that's creative writing, spelling, punctuation or grammar.
* Fun lessons tailored to your child's passions, pace and personality.
There are no extra charges for travel within these areas and no hidden fees – just engaging, exciting lessons designed to help your child become a confident writer!
