My Summary
About Me
My name is Lucie Walton, and I live in Alford, Aberdeenshire, near Alford Primary School and Nursery. I live with my two children, who now attend primary school, our fur baby Bayley, and a hamster named Snowie. I offer private childcare, including funded childcare, for children from 9 months old until they go to P1.
My passion is child development, and I have enrolled in additional courses to better understand this subject. I have an SVQ3 in Childcare and am working on a BA in Childhood Practice. I am very passionate about my job and working with preschool children.
I became a funded provider for Aberdeenshire, which means children can continue one-on-one with me or have split funding with a nursery for both experiences.
IActively organize activities for my setting and Alford childminders so children can benefit from gathering with like-minded children. (We go to feed lambs at a local farm and visit the train station and fire station.)
I I am part of a team that organizes a local toddler group on Tuesdays, so children can socialize and mothers can connect with each other.
We are outdoors every day! I am a big advocate of outdoor learning—local parks, gardens, and woods are our daily fun.
II have been registered with the Care Inspector since the beginning of March 2022. I have an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) clearance and a current pediatric first aid certificate. I also have a Level 2 food and hygiene allergies certificate and have completed an induction childminding course through the Scottish Childminding Association and GIFREC training with Aberdeenshire Council.
I completed my SCQF Level 7 in social services—children and young people. I am studying for a BA in childhood practice. I love educating myself through courses, seminars, or books so that I can deliver the best service I can.
Learn N' Play Childminding is everything you want for your child. We have so much fun, and we learn at the same time.

Lucie looked after our 2 year old son ad hoc before he started school nursery.
He loved going to Lucie’s and even though he didn’t go every week he was always so excited to see Lucie and rarley wanted to come home.
Lucie did lots of exciting activities with him and he had the best time!
