About Me
Hello, my name is Lucy and I’m 25 years of age. I am looking for some afternoon/ after school / evening babysitting work. I am a qualified Occupational Therapist in the NHS, but have recently returned from a 7 month backpacking trip, around South East Asia, so have taken a break. I’m originally from cardiff, graduated in Liverpool university, and have been working in the NHS for 4 years. My work as an OT was mostly with adults, although I did complete a 6 month paediatric rotation in 2023.
I am due to move to Manchester in March, so would only be available to babysit in Cardiff short term.
My Experience
I’ve babysat for children aged 5-12 years old, since I was 17 up until 24.
I’ve completed a 6 month paediatric occupational therapy work rotation in 2023, which I really enjoyed. That involved assessing and providing techniques to help improve children’s handwriting, fine / gross motor skills, dressing, problem solving and play techniques. I would complete school visits or have children and their parents come to visit me in the clinic. I have little to no experience with babies, but have worked with children who were ages 4 and above.
Whilst in Thailand recently, I volunteered with a Thai family for 2 weeks, to support their organisation which aims to support child development and create children’s play spaces. This involved being a volunteer at an event called, ‘Lets play festival’ over 3 days. I encouraged the children to get involved with the games, demonstrated how to use some and gave the parents some respite.
I am an enthusiastic, patient and adaptable person, who loves to listen and play with children.
My Qualifications
11 GCSEs (A*-C)
3 A levels (sociology, media studies, psychology)
University degree in BSC hons occupational therapy (2:1)

Week days and weekends! Sorry I don’t do overnights.
