About Me
My name is Eliza and I am a 21 year old university student, looking to find nannying and babysitting opportunities during the school holidays in Cambridge. In term times I live in Oxford, studying Interior Architecture at Oxford Brookes.
I like to see myself as a respectful, honest and compassionate person who loves to be playful and have fun. I endeavour to be kind and maintain extensive trust with parents by carefully following instructions regarding schedules, chores, discipline and free time. I am happy to work alongside all pets and I am a competent chef. References have described me as 'kind, friendly, and playful’ and have stated 'she was the most fun babysitter they had, engaging them in games & crafts. She was the sitter our children wanted us to ask for first!'
I believe in learning through play and hands-on learning, and try to translate this through a plethora of activities. For example, if I'm prepping food, I love the children to join me and help as much as possible. I will run them through everything I'm doing, and like to make this as fun and silly as possible while also remaining safe. I believe it's beneficial as the children learn proper food handling and food safety while simultaneously teaching them motor skills, concentration and self-confidence.
On a personal level, I avidly enjoy music, especially playing the piano. I love nature and the outdoors and enjoy staying active. Since I was little, I’ve also had a passion for all things creative and I am still an avid painter. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, baking, and playing video games.
My Experience
Over the past 5 years, I have periodically babysat and nannied in both the day and evening for families with children ranging from 18 months-14 years. In these roles, my main responsibilities were to help with any schoolwork, play with, care for and cook for the children. With one of the families, I played a lot of football with the youngest boy and girl, who also loved to draw and do arts and crafts with me. In the same family, the eldest son loved video games, so I used to play them with him, especially a game called “overcooked”. I also have experience working with children on the autism spectrum and homeschooled children.
During this window of time, I was also volunteering at Addenbrookes Hospital as a ward volunteer. This involved being DBS and ID checked, filling in an infection screening questionnaire and declarations, and having blood tests. Overall, this experience was extremely stimulating and made me realise that I have a passion for caring for others.
My Qualifications
I have been fully DBS checked in the past year and have taken part in childcare, first aid & COVID-19 training courses. I have also had an ID check and had my references checked recently.
My Availability
My availability in Cambridge is during my university holidays, from the 17th of December to the end of January, and from mid May to mid September

My Fees
- Babysitting from £13.00 per hour
My fee for babystting is £13, however I charge double for New Years Eve at £25/hr, unless this is an overnight stay, for which the price is reduced.

Eliza has looked after my 2 children after school doing school pick ups and then as sole responsibility for several hours and as a baby sitter. My children are 8 and 10 and they like Eliza and she is sensible, fun and trustworthy.
Overall
Eliza looked after my three children for a couple of weeks this summer. She is calm, patient, caring and responsible and, importantly, the children had lots of fun with her.
She coped well, and with kindness, when my youngest daughter wasn’t behaving as well as she can and was keen to help be part of the solution.
I would highly recommend Eliza to any parent.

We are really sad to see Eliza go. From the 1st meet she has been very professional and has exceeded all our expectations. Eliza is friendly,kind, patient and knowledgeable on babysitting just to name a few. Our son loves her and we have also developed a good relationship. She is equally very self-sufficient and is able to get on very well with with children both indoors and outdoors. I highly recommend Eliza if you are looking for a serious and responsible person to work with your children. She was very active and funny and played with them all the time while I was working during my stay in Cambridge. She was also flexible and very considerate. It was our pleasure to have her among us.

This was the first time my husband and I have used a babysitter. We were
participating in an event and needed someone to help during dinner and bedtime, whilst we were in a virtual meeting. Eliza's kindness, flexibility, and sweet demeanor put all of us at ease. My daughter had a great time with Eliza and went to bed easily whilst my husband and I were getting ready for and participating in the event. Thank you Eliza!
