About Me

Hi, I’m Charlotte, I’ve recently turned 25 and I’m currently continuing with my Psychology degree through the Open University on a part-time basis. I volunteer with both animals, children and adults throughout the week which includes Riding for the Disabled and supporting patients and residents at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability. I’m reliable, flexible and always like to help however I can. I have access to my own car, a full clean driving license and am a paediatric first aider (St John’s Ambulance).

My Experience

I have worked with children and young people in various settings. I started volunteering when I was 15, where I was very lucky to be able to support young people with and without disabilities as well as their families to experience and enjoy dolphin encounters at the Dolphin Research Center in the Florida Keys (during the summer break). I have worked with children aged from 7-15 at an American summer camp when I was 19 which was great fun. I have volunteered with Mousetrap Theatre Projects from the age of 20-23 where I supported young children, adolescents and their families to access and enjoy theatre, all whilst supporting their individual needs. I currently volunteer with Riding for the Disabled Association with young children with various physically and learning disabilities. I have also recently volunteered with Over The Wall Family and Health Challenge & Siblings Camps which supports children and adolescents & their as well as their families and siblings to enjoy the fun of camp. All of these experiences have been and are incredibly rewarding.

I have also worked in the film industry since I was 21 where I have worked with children on various productions as part of the Assistant Directing department.

My Qualifications

I am a paediatric first aider (St John Ambulance) and have had multiple DBS checks as part of the volunteering that I am currently involved with.

My Availability

I am available on Monday afternoon and evening. I am also available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening as well.
