About Me
I was born in a small town in the north of Italy called Brescia which is in Lombardia and spent 10 years there. I then moved to Essex and have been loving it since. I’m currently a spaediatric student nurse and would love to carry on to be a haematology nurse once I graduate.
I am a foodie,multicultural and sports enthuasist.
Food: There are so many ways to incorporate kids into having time to bake and cook whilst making it fun and enjoyable which I also learn a lot more about in my degree which I will be able to apply with children. Multicultural: I would have probably turned out a lot different if I didn’t have a childhood in Italy I love to reminisce a lot about the food, tv shows and activities I got into as a child which I tend to share and talk about a lot about with children as well. Sports Enthusiast: I was very sporty as a child which I don’t regret one bit any chance I got to play sports I took from volleyball to tennis you name it,I feel like its very important for children to have that sporty side to them as it gives you a lot of life skills as well.
I love working with children because there is always something to look forward to when working with children, every day is not the same. It’s surprising how much you can also learn from them as well they really bring happiness and keep me going in life, It’s also very rewarding seeing how much they grow and develop and the process they make as well is very heartwarming
My Experience
Health and Social Care: I had the opportunity to have different placements such as nurseries, primary schools, and special needs schools which helped me develop knowledge of children's development and behaviour. During my time at placement, I helped a lot with planning learning activities that helped the children develop knowledge in their social, emotional, physical and creative abilities, monitoring and assessing children's progress.
Children Nursing BSc Degree: So far I have had the opportunity to work and develop an increased amount of knowledge in the placements I have had so far as they have been a lot longer than the placements in the sixth form. My first placement was a Haematology ward in St.Mary's hospital which has definitely been my favourite so far being able to see children from when they are admitted to when they are discharged is so heartwarming to see their journey and progress is very heartwarming and developing a relationship with them as they are in hospital for quite a while, which was one of my favourite thing I loved whilst being a student there. My next placement was also in st. mary’s which was a general paediatric ward which was very insightful as there was a variety of different conditions and treatments going on and seeing surgeries and procedures being performed was very insightful as well. So far in my second year of placements, I have been in community-based placements, my first was in an outpatients ward in st. mary’s which had different clinics going on which was very insightful as I got to shadow a dermatologist and ophthalmologist it was an exciting experience and insightful to see that side of paediatrics the placement I'm currently on now has also been a community placement based in central London hammersmith and fulham, Chelsea and Westminster. In this side of nursing, I have become more knowledgeable about the developmental needs of children as I have observed a lot of development checks, and new births and also seen the side of school nursing. I'm continuing to learn something new and develop my knowledge every day
