My name is Destiny, and I’m a friendly, warm, and caring 22 year old nanny based in Edinburgh city centre. I’m currently in my 4th year studying Biomedical Sciences at the University of Edinburgh, with hopes of becoming a paediatric emergency medicine doctor after graduation.
I’ve always had a natural connection with children – growing up with two younger brothers (ages 7 and 9) has given me hands-on experience, and my family has run private nurseries in London for over 20 years. Over the past 7 years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a nanny for wonderful families across both London and Edinburgh, building lasting bonds that I cherish to this day.
I’m experienced and comfortable caring for children of all ages – from newborns to teenagers – and I truly enjoy the curiosity, energy, and joy they bring. I’m happy to assist with school drop-offs and pick-ups, homework, playtime, and bedtime routines. If overnight care is needed, I’m also available to help. Additionally, I’m more than willing to pitch in with light housekeeping to make things easier for busy families.
I have a solid understanding of special needs care, particularly autism, through both my professional experience and my personal life. I approach every child with patience, empathy, and a flexible mindset to accommodate their individual needs.
A fun fact about me – I love cats! I have two adorable hairless Sphynx girls.
I also speak Spanish (although my fluency has faded a little over the years, I understand it well and can pick it up quickly).
