About Me
I'm 52 years old with a grown up son, and have plenty of childcare experience. I'm also degree educated (English literature) and have worked with children with complex needs. I'm extremely reliable and able to connect with children on their level, without compromising on boundaries. I like to have fun, educate and encourage children through creating a safe and consistent environment for them to flourish in. I love being creative, the outdoors, animals, the arts and reading, and like to structure time with children to incorporate reading, learning play, crafts etc as much as possible. I also enjoy taking them for age appropriate activities and experiences outside of the home if that's something parents are comfortable with. (Playgroups and parks for example). Ultimately, I always want the children I take care of to feel happy, safe and nurtured... and to have fun!
My Experience
I raised my own son alone, and have had experience of nannying in Paris for a French family who wished to improve their children's English, as well as various families in the UK. I've also worked with young people and children within the care system, and as a contact centre support assistant for Shropshire Council, advising parents on parenting and liasing with social workers about child and parent contact sessions. I currently look after a toddler for one family on Tuesdays, and a toddler from another family on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I have an excellent relationship with the children and parents from both families and can provide full detailed references. (From the parents!) My Availability

I have 2 days a week availability on Mondays and Wednesdays, either both days or one day (subject to giving some notice to a current family who are now able to use nursery.) These would need to be full days rather than just after school pick up. I can do early morning school runs dependent on location if necessary.
