About Me
I am warm and personable, firm but fair and am especially encouraging of creative and literacy activities alongside learning based play. I am a qualified chef so try to inspire the children in my care to always try new things and nurture their curiosity in a wide and varied, healthy eating plan- inviting them to participate in the preparation and cooking of their meals. I have experience of working in Special Education Needs, including children with Down’s Syndrome, Autism (both non verbal and verbal) and emotional and behavioural learning difficulties. I have a degree in Acting & Performance and worked as a professional singer for three years, so enjoy bringing the energy and tools within my artistic background into imaginative play.
My Experience
I am a mature and qualified Early Years Practitioner employed at The Edinburgh Academy nursery. I have experience working with and caring for babies and children from 8 months up to 6 years old. I have previously worked as a classroom assistant, nanny, drama teacher and Early Years assistant at primary schools in both the state and private sectors.
My Qualifications
I am educated to degree level and am a qualified Early Years Practitioner (SVQ3) with first aid training
My Availability
I have varied/flexible availability over the summer holiday period until the 14th of August, after which I will be available Tuesdays-Fridays due to working as an EYP at a private school nursery.
