My Summary
About Me
CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE
My friends, family and those that know we best would describe me as an energetic and bubbly, yet very kind, caring and loving person. Someone whose great at building strong bonds and trusting relationships with both children and adults. I come from a large friends and family background and have always found myself happiest caring and working with people. After graduating university with a 1st, completing a 6 month ski season and a further 5 months travelling around Asia,I am excited in returning to the UK to continue my passion in childcare and working within private households. I hold a DBS check, Paediatric First Aid Certificate and driving license.
My Experience
My previous roles as a full-time Nanny/Housekeeper has allowed me to develop an understanding of the needs and development stages of children. Through these jobs I gained experience in working with children of various ages, and I am adept at adapting to their unique personalities and requirements. My primary goal was to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for the children to thrive in, helping to navigate children through a new prep school year and starting secondary school for the first time. I provided academic and emotional support through an exciting, however, sometimes scary time for children. Furthermore, this job enhanced my skills working within a family unit, responsible for tasks such as preparing nutritious meals, laundry, cleaning, and organising the house to a high standard as well as helping with any of the family's day-to-day tasks, for example, supervising homework, organising, packing for and transporting children to play dates/activities or looking after the family pets.
For 3 years, alongside my studies at University, I regularly nannied or a family part-time. This usually meant picking the children up from nursery/school or extracurricular activities and taking them home to cook and serve dinner for them as well as assist with the bedtime routine a couple of times a week. Furthermore, my role also consisted of the occasional babysitting on the weekends where we'd play age-appropriate activities or visit the park.
Perhaps most importantly, these roles taught me skills in building strong relationships with both children and their parents. I believe in both open and honest communication, and I strive to create a positive and trusting atmosphere within the household.
Having previously worked a Ski Season as a Chalet Host, a demanding but very rewarding and exciting role, I am able to provide high levels of personalised services to families and children. Catering for their specific needs, preferences, and dietary requirements, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable stay for all. It was my responsibility to communicate with parents effectively to come up with their idea of a perfect holiday and facilitate this by discussing available assistance, activities, meal ideas and times to cater to each unique situation. My job role also consisted of offering a babysitting service, which usually consisted of meeting children after ski school and assisting in getting them settled for bed independently. I acquired valuable skills such as adapting to an overseas environment and working alongside a varied group of colleagues and clients in a high-pressure and long-hour working day environment.
Furthermore, my travel experience in Asia for 4 months has expanded my cultural awareness and development, given me a greater sense of empathy and understanding to different perspectives, and taught me how to manage language barriers, budgeting, accommodation, and travel whilst abroad.
Finally, my previous work at The Luxury 5* Lowry Hotel on reception as a guest relations agent taught me valuable skills in how to always be discreet and professional working for VIP and celebrity clientele.
