My Summary
About Me
I live in a cosy cul de sac of Feniscowles. I am a Registered Childminder, with ten years experience working within nurseries.
Me and my husband have lived here since 2019 and live here with our two boys and our beautiful corgie, Doug.
Ten years of working closely with children, along with being a mother to two wonderful, energetic boys, has given me the insight and inspiration to bring together what I strongly believe to be the best of childcare practice, education, and hands-on, real life experience, in a unique local childcare setting.
Throughout my years of working with children, I have valued, more than anything else, the bond that we, as practitioners, develop with children. This bond is so crucial for a child to flourish in a childcare environment, and this is why trust and assurance are at the heart of everything I have built here, in this comforting, home-from-home setting.
Here we build friendships and create treasured memories together, letting the children lead the way in their own learning, as they confidently know I am here to support them every step of the way. The cosy and peaceful space allows a small group of children to get to know each other well, and develop social skills as they learn, create and grow together.
Fun is at the heart of everything we do here, and I strongly believe that joy and wonder are essential building blocks of a fulfilled and happy childhood. Our time is spent making mud pies, foraging for fruit, getting messy, cooking, and enjoying all the back-to-basics classic pass times of a childhood I remember so fondly myself.
As a teacher in its own right, the environment children spend their time in is a hugely important factor in the quality of a child's experience. The old phrase 'there's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing' is something I take to heart, and I firmly believe there is no better place for children to learn and grow than out in nature. Therefore, I have carefully curated the cosy garden to include fruit bushes, sensory herb gardens, a mud kitchen, a bug hotel, and many other inviting areas for children to explore, create, and develop an affinity with nature. The Forest School Ethos is something very important to me, as is my own personal development, which is why I am continuing to expand my understanding of the natural world and its benefits for children by undertaking an exciting and inspiring Forest School Leader course, which will open the doors for many more opportunities for us to enjoy the natural world together.
Our local area has so much to offer, and we take pride in making the most of these opportunities, taking regular walks in nearby parks and trips to local points of interest to inspire young minds and develop the children's sense of belonging in the community.
More than anything else, I hope that any child that comes through these doors is happy to be here. I strive to make every barefoot moment memorable, every rainy day a delightful one, and every creative project a newly inspiring way to see the world.
I currently have vacancies from April, please message me for more information
