My Summary
About Me
Hi, My name is Amanda and I live in Carcroft, Doncaster.
I live with my husband of twenty-nine years and two out of five of my adult children, who have returned home after completing their University degrees.
We moved to Yorkshire three years ago from Kent, which is when I hung up the Medical Secretary hat after eight years in the NHS.
Since being in Yorkshire, my husband and I have renovated a couple of houses and decided it is time to settle where we are. This, for me, was the time to return to my roots of caring for children.
I consider myself patient and would like to share my parenting and childcare knowledge and abilities with other families to help alleviate those initial concerns that arise with newborns.
My Experience
Over the years I have gained a range of experience from working in playgroups, day and night-time nannying/babysitting/childcare. This has included working with larger families of 4 plus children, as well as twins from newborn.
I have experience with autistic, and cerebral palsy and worked in schools as a Midday Supervisor and in the classroom as a 1:1 SEN TA
My latter years took me down the Medical Secretary route whilst working around my own growing family, where patience and attention to detail were put to the test. A job I found great satisfaction in whilst helping and dealing with the administration and smooth running of the background of very sick adults and children.
I keep a tight ship, but allow children to learn through play and experience. I encourage a healthy diet with choice, acknowledging that not all children are the same.
Children of different ages in a family are not an issue, as you can imagine bringing up five children you learn to cater for age differences and to keep everyone happy ensuring time schedules are also adhered to.
My Qualifications
Level 4 Maternity Nurse - Pass (17/09/2024) through BabyEm
As well as Life experience bringing up five successful children and grandparent to five young grandchildren, I also have Childcare Level 2 and CACHE Leve 3 Aware in Support Teaching and Learning which includes Safeguarding, Understanding how children and young people develop, supporting health and safety and schools and colleges as organisations.
My Availability
We all know things can happen, no matter how organised we try to be, therefore, I am available for the last-minute emergency cover subject to calendar bookings.
Primarily, I am available Monday - Friday, but some evenings, weekends and overnights are available
