Hi, i’m Sophie and i’m 21 years old from Sheffield. I’m currently at university in Nottingham studying psychology, but as it is currently summer and i am back home, i would love to help out anyone who needs it!
I have got a level 3 childcare qualification, i have had around 3 years experience working in a nursery, and 9 months working as a private nanny for a two year old. While working in nurseries, i worked with children ranging from 6 months up to 4 years, however i did spend a lot of this time in the baby room (6 months - 2 years). As such, i am aware of safe sleep, how to make a bottle, different strategies to get children to sleep , weaning and following any routines you put in place.
I am DBS checked, been first aid trained and also have a food hygiene certificate.
I am quite a creative person, i love to do messy play and crafts with the children i look after, and i love getting stuck in. I also love to read stories with them, especially sharing with them the ones i used to love when i was little. I love imaginative play, and love anything sporty, like playing catch with them! I also love going for walks, and although i don’t drive, i am more than happy to take them for walks (whether this be in a pram or not) and take them to local parks or softplays.
A little bit about me is that i am quite easy going, easy to get on with and it goes without saying i love working with young children and babies, watch in them grow and showing them love. Working in childcare is definitely something i have missed while being at uni. A little fact about me is that i love football and am a huge Sheffield Wednesday fan.
At the moment i am mainly looking for evening babysitting jobs, however if you are in need of a part time nanny i am happy to discuss this.
I am based in Hillsborough, and as i have said i don’t drive so would have to be fairly local to this.
