About Me
I am a confident, social and outgoing third year medical student currently studying at the University of Bristol on my placement at Southmead Hospital. I have a passion for helping people reach their full potential. I aim to develop, nurture and care for the children, taking into consideration both the parent’s and children’s needs. In my spare time I enjoy swimming to maintain a healthy lifestyle and play piano for extra-curricular enrichment - a hobby I have maintained for 15 years now. I have my own car and UK driving licence.
My Experience
I have 4 years experience in care - mainly in nursing homes and homes for residents with learning and physical disabilities. This entailed caring for residents throughout the day, helping them with their daily activities such as washing, dressing, personal care, feeding, toileting, mobility and engaging in social activities. Although my main experience is not with children, I have gained valuable experience in caring for others, learning to develop new methods of communication and accommodate particular needs and provide personalised care for the individual. I have also had casual babysitting jobs since I was 14, babysitting for neighbours and friends on a regular basis. I also regularly looked after my younger brother (9 years younger) whilst he was growing up, looking after him for extended periods of time. This also means I have had experience from an early age looking after young children, for example changing nappies, feeding and playing.
My Qualifications
First aid and basic life support trained.
Currently studying Medicine MBChB at Bristol University.
A levels - Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry (A*A*A*)
I have no official childcare qualifications but I have 4 years care experience and relevant childcare experience since I was young.
