About Me

I have now worked in the childcare industry for about 10 years. I became interested in childcare after having my own children. I am an Ofsted registered Child Minder, offering to care for babies and children in their own homes. I have Nanny experience and babysit for regular families on an ad hoc basis.
I have completed a number of recognised courses such as a Level 3 Diploma in PlayWork and a Level 3 Diploma in Children's care, Learning and Development.

These courses have given me a lot of experience, which has allowed me to build up my wealth of knowledge. I have built up my experience with babies, toddlers and pre-school over the years of caring for children.
This involves nursery care, weaning, breastfeeding/ Formula feeding, sleep and creating educational milestones to encourage their development. I also have experience caring for children with special educational needs.

I have an up to date DBS and a current in date Paedriatric First Aid.

My Experience

I have worked as a nanny in a sole charge role dealing with baby care and undertaking nursery duties, weaning, sleeping and creating age appropiate activities to bring on a baby/ toddlers mile stones. I have experience working as a Nursery Practioner working across all age ranges from 5 months to 5 years. I have also worked in a school so have experience of children up to age 11 years.

Currently I work as a Community Nursery Nurse as part of the The Health Visiting Team, where I am community based and seeing clients in clinics or in their own homes. This is a varied role where we conduct development reviews, advise on sleep, weaning and behavioral etc.

I have built up my experience over the years and have experience of dealing with all daily aspects of baby and toddler care (meal planning, toileting and age appropiate activities).

I have completed a number of online courses that have included Child Protection, Safeguarding Children, Equality and Diversity, Bloosoming Babies, The Vulnerability of Babies, Special Diets and Online Safety. These courses have all contributed to my knowledge and keep me updated with changes that continue to occur regularly in legislation.

My Qualifications

I have the following qualifications:
- BSC in Animal Science (Sep 2000- June 2003)
- Diploma in Play Work (Sep 2016 - Dec 2017)
- Diploma in Children's Care, :Learning and Development (Sep 2018 - Mar 2020)

I have completed a number of online courses on Noodle Now and through Childcare.co.uk, as part of my continued training and development.
