About Me
Hi, I'm Katie and I live in Bodicote, with my husband and two children. We love to get out in the fresh air, explore, take in all the beautiful scenery around us. Similarly, we also have days where we spend days building forts, or getting into a craft.
I am registered with Ofsted, and aim to provide a home away from home service, with lots of fun, play and learning through life experiences. We spend most of our mornings out exploring the world around us, getting to know our local community and environment, but also going further afield to places such as Blenheim Palace, Evenly Wood and Gardens, National Trust sites, local farms, etc. We also attend baby and toddler groups in the local area.
I provide wraparound care for children attending Longford Park Primary School.
I am conveniently located just off the Oxford Road, east for those commuting either to, or from Banbury.
I have worked in children's care homes, and with children with disabilities and have decided, after the birth of my daughter, to turn my hand to caring for children in my own home, and enjoy the adventure it provides.
My Experience
For ten years I have been working with children and young people with disabilities, initially in a short stay service, and as of late, in the young person's own home. The disabilities range from Autism to complex Cerebral Palsy. I have throughly enjoyed these roles, working with families and professionals alike, but now have the ability to care for children in my own home, as well as caring for my own children.
My Qualifications
BA in Psychology
Level 3 Health and Social Care
Paediatric First Aid
Mandatory training to become a childminder
Enhanced DBS certificate
Safeguarding
I also hold training certificates for the safe administration of medications, Epilepsy awareness, and administration of emergency medication, Manual Handling, Gastrostomy, Autism awareness.
My Availability
I will have one full time space available at the end of July 2024.
I will also one slot available for school holidays
