My Summary
About Me
Hello. I am Emma, an Ofsted registered Childminder with 18 years of Early Years experience. I live in Claygate with my husband, our two children and our loveable cockapoo. Having young children of my own has helped me to appreciate the struggles that working parents face, juggling a career and childcare.
My aim is to make this easier by providing parents with high quality, flexible childcare and the peace of mind that their children are being cared for in safe, loving and fun environment. I absolutely love my job, nothing brings me more joy than helping little people learn and develop through play.
I offer a home from home and nurturing environment where children will feel safe to express themselves. I follow a gentle parenting approach and believe in the power of positive reinforcement - building up children’s self esteeem so they can feel confident and grow to their full potential.
Under my guidance children will learn through exciting and interesting play experiences. I have lots of fun and educational resources and children will be given the opportunity to develop their own individuality and independence through free play and guided activities. My garden is open in all weathers so daily fresh air is guaranteed.
At the bottom of the garden, a gate leads to Claygate woods. Here we spend lots of time running, climbing, bug hunting, bird watching and puddle jumping. Luca the cockapoo often joins us and loves a ball being thrown for him.
Other outings include trips to the park, local playgroups, soft-plays and the library.
My Experience
I chose a career in Early Years 18 years ago and have enjoyed many different roles in this field. I have plenty of experience with children aged from new born to teenagers in a variety of different settings. I have worked in a nursery as a room leader, as a classroom assistant in an infant school and my most recent role has been as a Nanny - my favourite position so far. I have loved being a Nanny to some wonderful families for the past 12 years. In my most recent position I took my daughter back to work with me after my maternity leave. When my son was born last year I decided to make the switch from nannying to childminding and I am so excited for this new venture.
