My Experience
My interest in childcare started as a teenager when I used to babysit for family friends and neighbours back home in Ireland. That led to me taking a course in childcare to learn more as I wanted to further pursue it as a line of work.
Ultimately, I ended up working for a family in Southwest London and became an au pair to a family of six plus a dog which I absolutely loved. I lived with and worked for them for three years. Across my time as their au pair we became very close and even though I’ve lived in Manchester for several years we still keep in touch regularly and I try to see them whenever I get the chance.
