Hi there, my name is Liberty (Lib for short)! I am calm, nurturing individual with experience in babysitting ranging from ages 1-6. Currently I am a second year student studying Geography at the University of Bristol, and absolutely love it here. I am genuinely passionate about working with children, especially since coming to university as it will provide a break from the stresses that come with uni life. In my experience, the children I have cared for provided each day with fun and laughter, and were a reason to bring out my creative side. Engaging with their energy and witnessing their genuine excitement during various activities is very fulfilling, and I think will be extremely refreshing for me.
My Experience
Back in 2021 I worked for a wonderful family who live at Glyndebourne Opera House, looking after their two children (ages 6 and 1 at the time). During my 6 months with the family I worked several times a week with hours differing to fit around the family's schedule. I juggled caring for both children simultaneously , and so am confident in picking up differing routines quickly. Although not having official qualifications, at the start I worked alongside the family's full time nanny, who taught me very valuable skills particularly in looking after a very young child. From this I became competent in changing nappies, bottle feeding, changing, bathing, putting to sleep etc. In terms of caring for the 6 year old, I planned and engaged in activities appropriate, involving being outdoors, crafts, and helping with homework.
My Qualifications
As already mentioned I have no official childcare qualifications, but this does not mean I lack experience. I learnt extremely valuable skills through working alongside my previous family's full-time nanny, who has worked officially in child care for 30+ years.
My Availability
Due to academic commitments, I am available for 10-15 hours a week. My university timetable changes weekly however I can view this for months in advance, so this should not be an issue. My timetable is always empty on a Wednesday afternoon-evening, but am not confined to this only! Please message me and we can discuss this further :) Another thing to mention is that I go back home during the holidays and so am not available throughout these.
