My Summary

My Experience

I currently nanny for a 15 month old in Bristol, and have done since she was 7 months old. I absolutely love it! I completed a baby first-aid course before this, and use previous experience which I have detailed below. Working for this family includes bottle feeding, putting down for naps, bath time, dinner time etc. I normally nanny for 4/5hrs at a time, simply because this works with the parents’ schedule. Now that the baby is older I arrange activities during our time together, such as soft play, park trips, walks etc. Despite not having looked after young children for a few years before this, I adjusted very easily.

My first nannying experience was back in 2021, where I worked for a wonderful family who live at Glyndebourne Opera House, looking after their two children (ages 6 and 10 months at the time). During my 6 months with the family I worked several times a week with hours differing to fit around the family's schedule. I juggled caring for both children simultaneously , and so am confident in picking up differing routines quickly. Although not having official qualifications, at the start I worked alongside the family's full time nanny, who taught me very valuable skills particularly in looking after a very young child. From this I became competent in changing nappies, bottle feeding, changing, bathing, putting to sleep etc. In terms of caring for the 6 year old, I planned and engaged in activities appropriate, involving being outdoors, crafts, and helping with homework.

My Qualifications

As already mentioned I have no official childcare qualifications, but this does not mean I lack experience. I learnt extremely valuable skills through working alongside my previous family's full-time nanny, who has worked officially in child care for 30+ years. I have also completed a young child and baby first-aid course.

My Availability

Due to academic commitments, I am available for 10-15 hours a week. My university timetable changes weekly however I can view this for months in advance, so this should not be an issue. My timetable is always empty on a Wednesday afternoon-evening, but am not confined to this only! Please message me and we can discuss this further :) Another thing to mention is that I go back home during the holidays and so am not available throughout these. I am a final year student, however am staying in Bristol up until the end of July 2025.
