My Summary
About Me
Hi there, my name is Liberty (Lib for short)! I am currently a final year student studying Geography at the University of Bristol, living in Redland, and absolutely love it here. I am genuinely passionate about working with children, and would love to continue babysitting and nannying before I graduate in early July 2025 and have to think long-term.
I am calm, nurturing individual with a long list of experience in babysitting ranging from ages 7 months and up, in full detail below.

My Experience
Current experience:
I currently nanny twice a week for an 18 month old in Clifton, and have done since she was 7 months old. I absolutely love it, and am considered a part of the family. My time with her involves trips to the museum, the sea life centre, walks along the downs, arts and craft, and any other fun and enriching activities that I know she'll enjoy. I have also become confident with adapting to her to introduce new experience which support her learning.
Beyond play, I plan the mornings, afternoons and evenings around her routine, taking responsibility for nap times, bedtimes, bath times, and meals. Again I am flexible and responsive to any changes where necessary. This role has strengthened my ability to be patient, adaptable, and attentive to her needs. My role also involves clear communication with her parents, keeping them informed about her day and any milestones she reaches. We often exchange photos, allowing them to feel involved in her day when they are away!
Before starting this role, I completed a baby first aid course with the family, ensuring I could provide a safe and secure environment. This training has given me confidence in handling any minor accidents, responding calmly in emergencies, and understanding essential care practices.
Previous experience:
My first nannying experience was in 2021, when I cared for two children (aged six and ten months at the time) for the wonderful family living at Glyndebourne Opera House. Over six months, I worked several times a week with varying hours to accommodate the family’s schedule. This role required me to juggle the needs of both children simultaneously, which strengthened my ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and adapt to different routines quickly.
I had the invaluable opportunity to work alongside the family’s full-time nanny, who is incredibly experienced and well-qualified in this field. She provided hands-on training—particularly in infant care. From this experience, I became proficient in essential childcare tasks, including nappy changing, bottle feeding, bathing, dressing, and establishing a consistent sleep routine. I also learned to recognise and respond to the needs of a young child, from soothing techniques to supporting developmental milestones.
For the six-year-old, I planned and engaged in age-appropriate activities, including outdoor play, arts and crafts, and assisting with homework. Managing two children at different developmental stages required patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills. I ensured both children felt equally engaged and supported.
Beyond direct childcare, I maintained clear and open communication with the parents, providing regular updates to ensure they felt included in the day, despite often working away. This role also involved light household support, such as preparing meals, tidying play areas and bedrooms.
This experience gave me a strong foundation in childcare, teaching me how to confidently handle the varying needs of different ages, problem-solve, and create a nurturing and structured atmosphere. It also reinforced my passion for working with children, leading me to continue nannying in my current role.
I have provided ad hoc childcare for friends, family, and neighbours over the years, caring for children of different ages often in casual settings. This has included evening babysitting while parents are out, school pick-ups and drop-offs, covering for parents' overtime at work, and other fillers! This has given me further experience in adapting to new environments, understanding individual routines, and building quick but meaningful connections with children.
My Qualifications
- Paediatric first aid training completed in 2024, ensuring up-to-date safety practises and emergency care.
Whilst I have no official childcare qualifications, this does not mean I lack experience. I learnt extremely valuable skills through working alongside my previous family's full-time nanny, who has worked officially in child care for 30+ years. My experience through being entrusted by several families throughout the years speaks to my reliability, and caring nature.
Education:
Currently at Bristol University studying Geography, grade prediction 1st.
A Levels: Law (A), Geography (A), Environmental Science (A)
My Availability
I am currently underway with my dissertation, and therefore due to academic commitments, I am not able to work until the 30th April when these are submitted. From the 30th April 2025 I am available for as much or as little as needed, up until early July 2025 when I will be graduated and moving back home. I am happy to work all kinds of hours, and will be entirely flexible towards whatever your needs may be!
