About Me
We are a professional family with a gorgeous, happy, smiley and active little boy, 18 months and a second child on the way. We live in Harpenden.
My Requirements
UPDATE: 17.11.24 - the position has been filled, subject to contract. Thank you for your interest.
We seek a full time nanny to start in early January 2025. We hope this will be a long term post.
We are a friendly, professional couple in Harpenden. We are looking for a full-time (50 hours pw) live-out nanny to start in early January 25 to care for our happy, healthy
and gorgeous little boy, who will then be 20 months old. He is a super smiley, chilled-out baby who loves to be active, gives great cuddles and works hard to master each new skill he learns.
We both work full-time but also occasionally work from home in separate offices. We are expecting our second child in March 2025 and mum will be on leave for a time (TBC). The role will be sole charge and shared care as the needs of the children (and mum) require and then sole charge of both once mum is back at work.
We seek a kind, considerate, trustworthy and child-focused nanny. We would like a nanny
with good understanding of a child’s early development who is creative and will be dedicated
to providing a happy and educational atmosphere for our children, including taking them to suitable local activities. We seek someone who is proactive and well-organised and will also
communicate and liaise well with us.
We would like our nanny to undertake usual nanny duties, including meal preparation, keeping toys tidy, and doing child-related laundry (we employ a separate cleaner for household cleaning).
Our nanny needs to be reliable and in a position to offer some extra help when our
work requires this e.g. delays to public transport or if meetings run longer than anticipated.
Whilst mindful of the long days, occasional evening/weekend babysitting would be
appreciated, if available, which would be paid in addition to normal hours. There may be some occasions when we are able to offer shorter days when work permits.
Summary of job details:
• Start date: early Jan 25, with some mutually convenient settling and introductory sessions.
• Hours: 50 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm, with some flexibility appreciated as noted above
• Holidays: 30 days per year (which includes bank holidays)
• Minimum experience required: 5 years (preferably more), including experience of caring
for a toddler and infant. All relevant qualifications should be set out on application.
• Languages: Must speak fluent English.
• Other requirements: safe, suitable own car (car seat will be provided) with clear driving licence, up-to-date enhanced DBS certification, up-to-date infant/child first aid training (including paediatric basic life support) and non-smoker.
We consider that this role is not likely suitable for a NWOC.
• Pay: we are able to offer up to £16 gph for an experienced/career candidate.
• We seek two references, with one from the most recent employer please.
