Way above expectations

We initially had our son in an established nursery but we felt that he was being neglected by staff physically and emotionally and the adult to child ratios were inadequate. We reviewed some of the research on child development in the first 3y of life and found that a smaller setting would be more appropriate for our son to thrive.

Out of the childminders we visited, Maria was at a whole new level, and she genuinely cares about children and helping them as much as she can. She offers tasty home made healthy food, true Montessori activities indoors and in her large garden, outdoor activities on a daily basis in parks (including muddy puddles) and libraries.

But what I haven’t seen anywhere else is her level of knowledge and attention to the emotional wellbeing and development of the children.

She supports us with ideas on how to deal with the usual challenges of raising a toddler and I feel we have become better parents since we have seen her in action. We even got the motivation to rearrange our son’s spaces in the home using Montessori principles and to change our communication style with our son for the better.

As a really nice bonus, her daughter is absolutely lovely, she loves being around other children including small ones and our son is so comfortable with her as if she would be his big sister.
