About Me
I am a first - time mum to a beautiful boy.
My husband and I (married in 2018) are a joyful, young-at-heart, hardworking and active couple.
We pride ourselves in having a home full of laughs and warmth after long days at work. We are British-Zimbabwean so we actively practice both cultures in our home (including speaking Shona) and are Christian by religion. My husband is a senior fund accountant and I am a senior lawyer. We both work in demanding jobs for international firms (i.e. long hours).
My Requirements
Introduction
We are looking for a warm, engaging and qualified individual to look after our one year old baby boy to contribute to a safe, caring, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which he will thrive and develop by providing personalised one-on-one childcare in our home to meets Tinaye's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs.
In the first instance we would like assistance for at least 3 months.
Applicants must be at least 25 years old and be available from mid-April. Must have a valid passport and be eligible to live and work in the UK.
DBS Check is essential - ideally on the DBS Update Service
There is one friendly dog in the home, a Beagle called Shona, which applicants will be required to comfortable with.

• Problem-solving skills to be able to successfully deal with everyday issues that inevitably occur
• Ability to come up with creative ideas to educate and engage children
• Cooking and cleaning skills for making meals for the child and cleaning his living and play spaces
• Any other skills and qualities that are required to keep a child safe, entertained and well-educated
- We would like someone who speaks English fluently and, as a bonus, Shona as second language.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Daily tasks and duties will include supporting us with:
• planning Tinaye's daily schedule (including meals and nap times) and maintaining detailed care logs and reports (we use the Huckleberry App so it’s easy for all of us to keep track)
• Bathing, dressing, changing diapers, Tinaye’s laundry, planning Tinaye's meals, preparing his food, and/or feeding him
• Arranging playdates, activities and outings/ indoor and outdoor play/ educational activities and crafts to engages Tinaye in age-appropriate activities and encourage his intellectual development
• Administering medicine with parental consent, if necessary
• Model/Teach Tinaye appropriate social behaviour, manners and (Shona) cultural norms
• Ensure Tinaye’s safety during indoors and outdoors activities
• Assist with care in case of injury or illness
• Monitor Tinaye’s behaviour for any issues pertaining to health and well-being
• Light housekeeping (e.g. food shopping, basic family errands, emptying the trash, loading and unloading the dishwasher, and keeping the kitchen and Tinaye-frequented areas safe, clean and tidy)
