My Summary
About Me
I am currently working as an au pair in Hertfordshire, UK, and I am now looking for a host family with whom I can start in February. I aim to create a positive and enriching experience for the children during my time with them.
??I am currently caring for two children, aged 13 and 11. As teenagers, I respect their need for personal time while also enjoying shared activities such as watching anime, playing games, and chatting together.
In the past, I looked after two sweet girls, aged 7 and 5. At home, I loved engaging with them by drawing pictures, playing ball games like piggy-in-the-middle, playing with dolls, dancing, and singing songs together. We also enjoyed outdoor activities like going to the park to play hide-and-seek, shop-and-seek, or simply having fun on the playground equipment.
I also introduce Japanese culture and language to the children. For example, the younger children I cared for could count in Japanese! They also enjoyed Japanese food, especially onigiri (rice balls), furikake rice, and omelettes, which I often cooked for them. During mealtimes, we expressed gratitude to the cook with the phrase “itadakimasu,” creating a wonderful cultural exchange.
I look forward to finding a new family where I can bring joy and support while sharing my culture!

?Japanese is a language with many phonetic features that differ from English. Even without actively learning Japanese, exposure to its phonetics can yield several benefits:
1. Exposure to Japanese phonetics, even for English speakers, may facilitate understanding of phonetics in other languages. Japanese, with its prevalence of open syllables, contrasts with the closed syllables common in English. Thus, exposure to Japanese phonetics during childhood for English speakers can aid in learning phonetic features unique to languages other than English.
2. Switching between languages and cognitive control are enhanced, leading to improved focus and memory.
3. Learning phonetics of a language different from one’s mother tongue from an early age enables individuals to grasp a higher level of language proficiency without missing the critical period for language acquisition.
?I have an automatic transmission driver’s license.
?If you have a tea ceremony set at home, I can make matcha or teach tea ceremony.
?If you have a kimono set at home, I can help you put on the kimono.
